38k Gearbox Oil Service-2021 2.0 TDI Quattro-Price/Non Audi?
Have you enquired about a service plan? There’s 25% off at the moment, and it may be included in the price. I had one for 2 years @ £500 and got the first and second oil service and inspection service all included.

38k Gearbox Oil Service-2021 2.0 TDI Quattro-Price/Non Audi?
I was looking at this the other day as I was working out what the costs were of a new car versus keeping the current A6. The gearbox oil needs replacing at 40k according to the online service app.

Audi connect navigation and infotainment licence
It’s outrageously per month. I have the same car with tech pack. Just use Carplay or Android Auto for all your Nav / UI, it’s far better.

Pedal & Footrest Issues
Isn’t this maybe the root of the problem? I also have the Black Edition with multifunction Alcantara seats. They are brilliant, comfortable and very adjustable. I find the A6 a great place to sit, and no ergonomic issues. I use to have an S4 with leather Supersport seats. Hated them and found the car very uncomfortable. They were not adjustable in the areas that you needed them to be. Also found the leather in the lumbar region very hard.

Can’t say I’ve had that. Now water falling in the boot when it’s opened after rainfall…

Turning circle and car parks
Pretty much saved me typing about 4Wheel steering only available on higher powertrains in the UK, although I read a UK car magazine review with it on a 50 3.0 V6 tDi as an optional extra. The 40tdi is a bit lethargic. I’ve had a couple as courtesy cars and didn’t like them compared to my 40 TFSi. I genuinely don’t find it ‘feels’ particularly big for such a big car, and I drive mine in mainly urban areas. Never had an issue parking. Boot space is very good for a saloon as well.

How does the mhev work on my car ?
The 40Tdi is a 12volt battery, so there are differences in how the system works. I do agree though, that the state of charge of the battery is key and probably more so in the much smaller 12v system. I quite often knock the gearbox into S and let the engine do the braking when slowing down on long stretches. It recuperates the kinetic energy and tops up the battery nicely. Since doing this I’ve found the coasting function operates at nearly every opportunity.

Audi complaint help
All the C8 A6 MHEV engines, diesel and petrol have the coast feature. Page 5 is from the Audi press release for the A6 which confirms- https://audimediacenter-a.akamaihd.net/system/production/uploaded_files/12659/file/d1e4a709211d732b8a72ebf75291ce12e7d49b88/en_AMC_Presse-Info_A6_Avant.pdf?1536135226&disposition=attachment

How does the mhev work on my car ?
Not sure that is correct. As stated I have the petrol, but I never disengage the stop/start and it still coasts with the engine off. However, gearbox in Sport mode will also prevent coasting / engine off.

How does the mhev work on my car ?
Ah! I didn’t spot that, mine is a petrol and has the coasting. So can’t comment on the diesel. Sorry 😔

How does the mhev work on my car ?
Yes it has intelligent coasting, depending on certain conditions and engine parameters it will coast either on idle or with engine cut off completely. For the latter I have found having the air conditioning on prevents it.

Missing parcel shelf
Wow, parcel shelf optional!! Next it will be rear seats 🙄

A6 Avant 40TDI or 40TSI
I would work on 10-15mpg extra from the diesel. Personally mileage wise, anything under 20k / year wouldn’t be worth it for me personally.

Smoke pouring from engine bay
I would say this is a case of losing faith in the dealer rather than the car. It’s a split hose which can happen on any car, which has obviously not been repaired properly by the dealer. Get them or another dealer to repair it.

Tyre wear v milage
Not all Continental tyres have 8-9mm new. I had a new pair of Sportcontact 5’s fitted a few years back and noticed a distinct lack of tread depth. Continental UK confirmed they only came with 6.8mm.

A question about an A6 C8 engine fault warning light
It is more likely that the damaged heatshield has no bearing to the failed sensor than the original question you asked. if it was me I would be wanting to get them to give me more details about the relationship of the sensor location and the damage they have shown you. it may be the actual reason, but don’t take it at face value right now.

A question about an A6 C8 engine fault warning light
It’s possible but unlikely. How close is the proximity of the sensor to the damaged heat shield? Is there physical (visible) damage to the sensor?

A6 2.0 sline tfsi c9 2019
Not sure if it’s a typo, but if your A6 is the latest model, it’s a C8 (not C9). Maybe why your not getting many results?

MMI - Sat Nav system
I stopped using the Audi maps after a couple of months of getting the car. Google maps (or Waze) via CarPlay (or AA) is streets ahead. Virtually anywhere is found just using voice search. I often just ask for directions to [insert any shop name here], et voila. It also looks through you phone contacts, so ‘Directions to John Smith’ is found aswell. Waze has all the speed camera locations aswell as live mobile camera vans (subject to latest peer reports). Seriously ditch the Audi maps, they’re rubbish in comparison.

20" wheels on a A6 C8 sport
They always will, but I have the 20” with 40 profile tyres with SLine suspension and the ride is more compliant than the previous cars I’ve owned. Virtually everone who is a passenger comments how smooth the ride is.

20" wheels on a A6 C8 sport
He has the sport, so not the lowered suspension. I have the black edition with SLine suspension and 20” wheels, and it looks great. The 20” wheels really suit the proportions of the car. As previously posted, replacing the 18” wheels with 20”you would need to ensure the rolling diameter is maintained by fitting lower profile tyres. The gap between the arches would remain the same so might look a bit awkward without lowering. Still probably an improvement.
