  1. Welcome Mark. Nice looking car.
  2. How about this one ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334502791573?epid=1549505428&hash=item4de1eb8995:g:EVcAAOSwF31iz9DE
  3. Just had a look on ebay, WOW, a bit pricey. In my case, as the price goes up, so does the difficulty using them. haha.
  4. I thought the same as you until last weekend. I was chatting with my son, who is in the motor trade, and I said " I don't know why my Audi went into limp mode when I was driving, after all, glow plugs only work on start up" He told me that these days glow plugs come on any time the engine needs them.
  5. A few videos on it here https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=audi+a4+key+stuck+in+ignition+
  6. A complete kit here for £25. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165595760366?epid=652226080&hash=item268e46c6ee:g:5uIAAOSwvqli3x99 All of the jacks are just advertized as for A3, A4, so I would think, all the same.
  7. Wires one or more brocken, probably by the hinge. https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/rear-door-not-locking-also-window-not-working.258927/ FIXED! I thought I'd post an update on this. I swapped the left and right rear door controllers around as advised by Mike above. Strangely they both worked when swapped. When I swapped them back though the right one was still dead. I ordered a new one of the same part number from a breaker on ebay. Fitted and now working!
  8. Diesel Engine Glow Plugs: Not Just For Starting Anymore https://www.enginebuildermag.com/2012/01/diesel-engine-glow-plugs-not-just-for-starting-anymore/
  9. This looks ok for £42. Tempted myself. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393490166590?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20201210111314%26meid%3Db2d7c034825d4b5eb229598e8790dc55%26pid%3D101195%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D393180653071%26itm%3D393490166590%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv9PairwiseWebMskuAspectsV202110NoVariantSeedKnnRecallV1%26brand%3DAncel&_trksid=p2047675.c101195.m1851&amdata=cksum%3A393490166590b2d7c034825d4b5eb229598e8790dc55|enc%3AAQAHAAABYK6kjqEQMYM5Aq%2BOhcaIlwco9wYktoCXAP3D6Fo7POUdlJK1eqFqv5Y7huO6nLq7hjqYjs5sEMudJpf20WlRkR5FQ5lB9%2F07hkx64b6AhKeZxfC37svjA7UymNWmPw009JQAFsbU9mb%2FYhGYOXmFkXA2S7weT2521k48BqJhFkrzrxP37ySy9JhN2pnO1BMk665D8b%2B39ETHXORGBf%2Fif8PUzXTtVJj8Ic99rc7EXoLtz1TII6c2izg8fmG6%2FB6wbhFuqHpK1QqngPP1cfVmGtojpahO0PlHbgoZPAIiIJXR1mVw%2B9Tu9SsPHohF7XoxMLf7vxT4bL57JCBDWElvvxBPTRWPLBzOC8biUwO7jGg4hFtZ3NyhHnT52Wp3KUDuL%2FInaAR48CMvOjXZniaqNzysA6koGOyd0CN5378xU4p8Ih54FoskgK374WvEJ4xkGbDTpl9Y9CuaENqqhf7x1Q4%3D|ampid%3APL_CLK|clp%3A2047675&epid=13034191996
  10. You mean, you want it to sound more like a lorry, being a diesel. I don't think you would get it through an MOT without DPF, cats and EGR.
  11. I don't agree with the service intervals that Audi recommend, 11,000 miles between oil changes, should just about get you out of the warranty period. I wouldn't mind an A8 around the 2009 / 11 period but the mileage is getting a little high at that age. If I traded my 2009 A6 C6 Avant in for one, I would never get what it's worth to me. It's a genuine 42,000 miles from new and the longest it's ever gone between oil changes is 4,000 once, usually around the 2,000 mile mark, oil is cheap enough to change it yearly. Always garaged out of the sun and rain. I purchased it from Stafford Audi.
  12. They are OK, it's just a matter of preference.
  13. Try claybaring your windscreen to get rid of all the MUCK and diesel fumes. Also wipe your blades with carb cleaner.
  14. My indicators flash when locking / unlocking.
  15. HAHA. Yes Steve, great on the old trick, not so good with the new tricks. You would know what I mean if you saw me trying to use a mobile phone Useless with new technology.
  16. If metalic paint, I was given a good tip once. If you put the base coat on and then the clear lacquer you end up with the touch up area standing proud of the rest of the bodywork and can't flatten it down. But if you mix the base coat and clear lacquer togeather it can be wet sanded so you cant notice it.
  17. No such thing I'm afraid. I fitted LED bulbs in my A6 Avant and lived with the warning lights for years. The warning only came on when starting the car and stayed on until I turned the fogs on, then the warning lights go out. Just recently I have fitted a connector with a resister in it to stop the warning lights coming on. The resistors get very hot so best screwed to the metal bumper rail. I fitted these bulbs And these leads.
  18. Very nice. Nicest grill Audi did, so much so I fitted one to my S-line Avant.
  19. When Should Audi A1 timing chain be replaced? Unless there is a specific fault, the timing chain should be replaced between 80,000 and 120,000 miles.
  20. Looks like it's a chain.
  21. What engine is in it ?
  22. I fitted Black View cameras front and rear in 2012 after I had someone rear end me. I paid £90 each for them. https://blackvueuk.co.uk/
