  1. Thanks Steve, I have heard that about batteries. I will start with a diagnostic check first. I just thought my car might be too old for this to be part of the diagnosis checks.
  2. If I leave the windows down without any power for while, when I select them all to the closed position, the drivers door window fully closes, but then opens without being selected to about 1/3 of the way down. It will do this until I select open and closed but hold the switch in those positions for around 10 seconds. Even then, it may not stay closed until a few re-sets have been completed. Any thoughts anyone?
  3. I was hoping to find an amiable car upholstery firm that might do the fitting, but so far it's a no! Mainly because they have never done this type of repair.
  4. https://youtu.be/R9zGH9KOUYA?si=k0Fqd_SzBwwTkyPB Hi Cliff This chap appears to be an 'expert' and mentions the glue idea, but warns against the stains it causes.
  5. Hi Gareth, the video's I have seen show a self tapping screw being fitted first, this has a base plate which stops the material from twisting around the screw. The material button then fits to the plate.
  6. Thank for the video, however, I am disabled and can't remove this myself. I had it costed at well over £500. So the buttons on a 22 year old car at less than £10 v £500 is a no brainer for me. I have seen pictures of vehicles other than Audi's with this fix, but can't seen to find out if it's possible to fit the screws into the roof shell e.g. if it's a cardboard composite or is it fiberglass.
  7. I don't want the expense of removing the rear window to get to the roof lining. Nor did I want your opinion on what it might look like. I just needed to know if anyone had done this type of fix previously.
  8. Has anyone used these repair 'buttons' (see link below) to fix a saging roof lining. I just need to know if it works on an Audi of any description. https://www.fruugo.qa/headliner-repair-button-universal-car-roof-fabrics-nylon-fit-compatible-for-all-carscheck-clothbeige/p-255109155-554160885?language=en
  9. Too late, foots already off!
  10. I found out why my foot kept catching on the footrest. The footrest screw was missing and the cover had become loose, thus fouling on my trainer.
  11. I never use the footrest, and it only serves to catch my shoe to prevent me from operating the clutch pedal. Before I remove it for ever, I wondered if anyone knew if there is carpet underneath the footrest?
  12. The boot release lock servo solenoid are not the most robust on the Audi A4.
  13. Hi Steve Q. Hanks for the reply. Does this apply to the 2.0L petrol engines. Or is it only on the RS versions?
  14. My missus wants an Audi TT but the model with (I believe is available) a switch that makes the exhaust note more noisy. Can any one advise me which model and year I need to be looking at?
  15. Thanks Steve, sounds like good advice.
