  1. It's a difficult one as I used to own a Nissan X-Trail and this had the same issue. Read some posts on forums, all saying the same thing...tyres! Changed my tyres, noise went. Sometimes they lay new road surface which although improves grip by adding certain compounds to the mix but also leads to increased road noise. I think if it was me I would try a few different road surfaces (that you don't normally travel on) to see if it changes or disappears before throwing wheel bearings at it. If still no joy then try to diagnose when the noise disappears (e.g. turning left or right) which should determine which bearing is faulty
  2. Hi Andy I absolutely love the Nurburgring as went to watch the WEC 6 Hours there...loads better than Le Mans, not corporate, sit where you want, beer was only 5 euro not 9 euro at Le Mans...would definitely go there again. Spa...what can I say! Probably my favourite circuit for all the reasons as Nurburgring but also a genuine grass-roots motorsport feel to the circuit. Loads of places to watch the action and if you're driving it....Look out for the turn at the top of Eau Rouge! One word of warning...it's located in the Ardennes which is renowned for it's own microclimate..when we first went in May, might as well have been January...incredibly cold so take some warm gear. Keep us posted with your exploits Cheers Trevor
  3. Hi Adam....welcome to the Forum I just had a quick look on eBay to see if there is an adapter to convert from Apple to Android but I can't find anything unfortunately. May just have to pull the stereo out and see hows it connected. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  4. definitely a good place to start I would think
  5. Hi Guy...welcome to the forum There may be another fuse controlling the interior fusebox and then power to the blower motor. Sometimes the motor seizes and than can lead to blowing a fuse...check any underbonnet fuseboxes. Let us know what you find. Cheers Trevor
  6. That would be really annoying if it was the valves as head off job to replace them. You should be able to measure the height of the valves compared to the other side (in the closed position) to quickly determine if they are wrong.
  7. Hi Graham...welcome to the forum Hopefully someone will come forward with some info for you shortly Let us know if you find anything suitable yourself, would be interested to know what fits, etc Cheers Trevor
  8. Hi Paul...welcome to the forum I would advise a battery disconnect/reconnect to see if that resets it....just make sure you have all the security codes first. Let us know what you find. Cheers Trevor
  9. Hi Martin Best to review a few piccies on Google as there are many visual differences mainly headlamps, grille, etc. Cheers Trevor

  13. Hi I have moved your post to the A8/S8 forum section to see if it gets any responses there and also featured it so it stands out a bit more. Cheers Trevor
  14. Hi TopCat I have always found Michelin to be the best tyres all round but not too sure about how they fair in snow...but looking at it, you have the ideal opportunity to let us know how they get on in the white slushy stuff. Please let us know if you go with the Michelins and how well they cope Cheers Trevor
  15. Hi James...welcome to the Forum Change of make but still sticking to German cars then! You'll have to post up some piccies of it when it arrives Cheers Trevor
  16. Hi Rick...welcome to the Forum That's bad luck with it breaking down....did you buy it from a garage? Think the best thing to do is get it scanned to see what fault codes are in the ECU memory and go from there Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  17. Not sure really, Pistonheads or something similar, maybe? I'm sure it will appeal to anyone who is into Audi Motorsport

  20. Hi Chris I could only recommend a battery disconnect/reconnect to attempt to reset the system, as doors should unlock if power supply is interrupted....just make sure you have the keys in your hand Let us know when you find the problem as I'm sure someone else may the same issue in the future. Cheers Trevor
  21. Hi Grant I would replace the filter as a matter of course, but also check to see what is left at the bottom of the filter housing and if there's loads of dirty fuel (water content, muck) I would redress it with Asda. Hopefully just refilling with decent fuel and a new filter should do it. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  22. Hi Chris....welcome to the forum Looking forward to seeing the before and after piccies. Cheers Trevor
