MMI 2G Basic Adding Aux...

Electric seats
Hi Gary, I wonder if it is a seat bolster/cushion adjustable support (much like the lumbar) but has gone faulty and therefore not reaching a threshold? Just a thought! Trevor

Questions re sat nav, aux in and phone
I found this information in an earlier post (2013) The versions on the A6 which do not have nav have the smaller monochrome red screen and four function buttons on the MMI control instead of eight (it will have radio, media, tel, car but missing nav, directory, setup and info. They are also missing the navigation module in the boot. Personally, I find a TomTom does just as good job but the updates cost a fraction of the price! It just doesn't have the 'built in' feel. I know it doesn't answer your question as to how to work the system but it does seem as though it is now considered old school technology and probably not worth bothering to update, etc.

Help please
Hi Sarah...welcome to the Forum I'm not sure but it may just be a case of trying it to see if its the same and if not then have to send back. I can't imagine there would be much difference in the belt itself but may be in the buckle so if it clips in then all well and good. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

Car sometimes wont select 5th
Hi Sam...welcome to the Forum Had a similar problem recently with an Alfa gearbox (Vauxhall gearbox used)....could not find anything wrong with the external selector cables and turned out to be an internal fault but not synchros which usually result in crunching gears when trying to select. Let us know how it progresses, if it gets worse or even completely disappears. Cheers Trevor

Electric window problems
I would check the wiring isn't broken in the loom that runs from the A pillar to the drivers door as they can break where the wiring is articulating when opened and closed all the time....which can then lead to fractures. Should just be able to peel back the rubber gaiter and see if there is anything amiss. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

occasional rattling
Hi Dave....welcome to the Forum It could be a standard Diesel Injector rattle when accelerating but just to be on the safe side of things I would definitely take it to a garage to check out oil quality and to confirm it's nothing disastrous. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

Audi a4 2000 model b5 apt engine
Hi Michael....welcome to the Forum The Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) measures the temperature of the coolant at all times and is constantly referenced by the Engine Management System (EMS) and Instrumentation to determine the correct fuel quantity, ignition timing, fans and just about anything else that needs to know how hot the engine is. There is sometimes only one wire, which would indicate that this sensor is for the gauges only, or two/three wires which would indicate the sensor is being used for EMS and gauges...and anything else needing the temp reading. Hope this clarifies it for you? Cheers Trevor

Recent problems
Hi Bobby...welcome to the Forum You could try replacing the switches on the brake pedal (they're very cheap from somewhere like GSF) and see if that makes a difference Let us know how you get on with it. Cheers Trevor

1.8T SLine A4 B6 Strange ABS Faults
Hi Lewis...welcome to the Forum You are certainly experiencing a humdinger of a problem there! I would have thought it was a problem with the ABS unit. If you could power it up so that the pump is running and pushing the fluid through it...could be a build up of crud and not allowing the valves to operate...e.g. being stuck in position. Just a thought, but worth trying to bleed fluid through it by cracking the unions on the modulator and seeing if fluid comes out. Let us know how you get on with it. Cheers Trevor

New to audi teething problems
Hi Lee...welcome to the Forum Possibly the central locking actuator on the drivers door at fault...worth checking the wiring harness as it goes from the A post into the door for broken wires first. I would always recommend a flush to clear any deposits from inside the engine to allow the oil a better chance of working efficiently. Cheers Trevor

Double Din upgrade
Hi Robert It should fit the slot nicely but not sure if you'll have all the necessary cabling there...worth looking to see if there is an adapter (like the sort they sell in Halfords) to plug and play rather than cutting wires, etc. Also, it may need programming into the vehicle to work. Let us know how you get on with it. Cheers Trevor
