Rubber Protection
The clips are there to retain the deflectors while they bond but I left mine in there but did notice they would pop out and disappear after a while. But if you put the windows up, they should retain them in position. Just make sure the door/window frame area is not full of gunge and they should bond nicely

Engine rattle
I know the TFSI engine is noisy by its very nature (being high pressure injection) and can sound somewhat like a diesel engine. Other noises I could hear are the injectors....which do 'clack' rather loudly. Could possibly suggest replacing the oil with a better quality brand and also the grade to facilitate smoother running from cold.

Rubber Protection
yes pretty much and then using the clips to hold them in place. I closed the windows as soon as possible so they sat in their natural position but otherwise, easy peasy to fit. ....and they certainly work well compared to the gale force winds that were coming in before .....oh and they certainly enhance the look of any car as well :-)

A1 1.4 TDI starting issue
Sounds like glow plugs are not working efficiently...I would check the resistance across each of them and replace if necessary

need help
I'm sure it must be fit for purpose especially if it has a BS kite mark on it somewhere...if not, then I would be a bit worried as it could be imported and not make to strict UK standards

Removing turbo
No need really....just a case of undoing nuts and bolts until it comes off and then the reverse to refit. Only take care with the ingress of dirt and make sure you prime it first

Rubber Protection
I fitted wind deflectors to my Honda and the plastic just went up the side of the rubbers so you shouldn't need to lube them up beforehand

Removing turbo
It's pretty straight forward with just hand tools and following a procedure when fitting new one to prime up before running the engine. Just make sure you block up pipes and hoses with rag to avoid getting grit, dirt, nuts & bolts being ingested when removing and refitting. Good luck!

Huge car troubles
It certainly does sound like it could be turbo related which would explain loss of power as well

bonnet stuck s4 cab B6
Hi Karl Had this problem a while ago on a Golf and had to smash the grill to sort it but luckily aftermarket grills are cheap for Golfs.

Noob asking for advice
I think the 2.0TFSi issue is confined to earlier models so later engines should be okay. If it was me and I wasn't worried about fuel bills I would go for the 3.2 and sort the timing chain before it became an issue....then the engine will go on forever.

Wiper motor linkage
can you run power to motor directly to eliminate that?

need help
Hi Darren...welcome to the Forum I'm not sure but if the load restriction is stamped on it and you don't exceed this (along with being in good condition) then I don't imagine it would be an issue. Although, I have to say, not entirely sure about Aluminium as a choice of material for a towbar though!

Front Windscreen Wipers (A3 2014 S Line)
Hi Stephen....welcome to the Forum Not sure whether you have this system in your A3 but here is a youtube clip that may help Alternatively, turn to the 1st click to power up the instrument panel, then turn back to take the key out, then pull down the wiper stalk. To move them back just do all the same process

2011 Audi 3.2 FSI Quattro S Line
Ouch! how much for the transmission fluid change? A slipping belt would definitely cause heavy steering but I think you would have heard it or smelt it when it was slipping. The water pump leak...not sure about that but a coolant pressure test would be the best test to establish this. Wheels, tyres and alignment would all be contributory to the heavy steering. I would probably seek an independent VW Audi specialist repairer to look at rectifying the jobs that need doing....a lot cheaper as well. Keep us updated on the progress

A4 Allroad obscured main beam light
Hi Peter....welcome to the Forum I know exactly where you're coming from and it does defy any logic for the designers to think this stuff up. I quite often sit in a car and think 'why?' but then remember that most car designers are probably not practical people but can draw up nice things which in real life do not work well. Sorry, rant over. Cheers Trevor
