A3 2.0 fsi
secondhand should be fine as should reconditioned units. I think there may be some English run garages nearby, worth checking as these will be cheaper and a lot quicker than the French garages (sorry, sounds bad but I used to live in France and I know how they work...or not as the case may be). Keep us updated Julia

Dreded DSG problem
certainly worth checking all connections as you suggested but also worth checking any wiring that you can easily access if the solenoid has lost signal.

Inside wheel arch
Hi Duncan How unfortunate, for both you and the Pheasant. There should be some wheel-arch liners for sale in here http://www.audiownersclub.com/parts-categories/A4-S4-RS4-_facelift__ Cheers Trevor

A6 c5 airbag advice
Just had a recall for my Honda CRV for potential exploding Airbags...at least I get them done for free I suppose. This fault has affected a range of cars worldwide, made by one company and fitted to loads of cars...all defective! Going to cost millions to sort I would imagine

A6 Quattro haldex
Not personally sure, but I would probably consult another Audi dealer or specialist as I cannot see it being a sealed unit without any sort of maintenance required...what if it leaks some oil?

Audi A3 2001 1.6 Petrol - Clunking & Loss of power
Sorry James, absolutely no idea what this could be but I would advise taking it into a VW/Audi specialist for them to look at it and give you a diagnosis

1999 Audi 1.8t stalling/cutting out
Worth checking your stoplight switch(es) as the switch informs the engine management that you are braking and it invokes the idle speed control system. Check the brake lights are working okay and then if you have two switches on the brake pedal (they should be the same) try swapping them over and see if the brake lights still work okay

Red oil light Audi a3 2003 oil pressure or low oil?
Hi Ali....welcome to the Forum As Steve Q has already mentioned the oil flush...I would totally agree with doing that. You can probably still get one that I used to use in my garage which was made by Comma (I think) and it was in a 5 litre container. You would drain out the old oil (but if yours is new...keep it in a clean drain tray) and fill the sump half full with the flush oil. Run the engine for about 10 minutes at high idle speed. Drain it out and then put your old (new) oil back in. You would be amazed at how much crap comes out in the flush. Let us know how you get on with it. Cheers Trevor

Newbie Here
Hi Mark...welcome to the Forum That's a very fine car you have there. Good philosophy about the cambelt, but have you read the pro's and mainly con's of getting the emissions update done on your car? Good to have you onboard Cheers Trevor

Audi q7 fan constantly on
It sounds like an EVAP fan or similar...either way, it should only ever run for a few minutes after switching off. I would probably take it to a dealer or specialist to check it out as it certainly does not sound right

2.0tdi mapping options
Generally, if carried out correctly, a remap is fine and if the engine is maintained as it should be then again, no issues. I fitted a Tuning Box to my Honda CDTi and it improved the driveability ten-fold...wasn't after performance but gained quite a bit more on economy in the process. Here's some info about it http://www.audiownersclub.com/news/reviews/club-reviews/product-reviews/electronic-engine-tuning-guide/
