  1. Hi Matthew...welcome to the Forum I suppose if you are predominantly driving short distances then a petrol may be better all round. If choosing Diesel, then it will need a good blast every so often to clear the DPF as it all clogs up around town driving. Let us know which way it goes. Cheers Trevor
  2. I have never experienced any issues with using engine flush, but I alway use the one that you drain down the oil, fill half the contents (2.5 - 3.0 litre) and run the engine at fast idle (approx. 1200 rpm for around 5 minutes and drain down. Used this process/flush oil on a commercial basis in my garage business for years with no issues and it definitely cleans out partially blocked oilways and cures rattling hydraulic lifter problems. The 'add to oil' type flush in my mind doesn't work as well, but I cannot see how any engine oil flush or detergent flush would have any detrimental effect on an engine. The only time I would not advise to use any thin oil or flush is when a diesel engine is heavily worn and it can potentially draw the fluid past the rings and combust it, leading to a 'runaway engine'. Engine oil quality is simple....you get what you pay for! Probably the best oils I have used are Mobil1 (not cheap) and Shell Helix Ultra (cheaper). Spark Plugs....either NGK or even Champion (who have now got their act sorted and producing good plugs again). Would avoid Bosch at all costs.
  3. Oh very nice! Definitely looks the part
  4. As the weather is now getting a bit colder, especially in the early morning, batteries tend to show their true colours and if they are original fitment and the car is several years old then the first time it goes flat, suggests that it has seen better days and a new one is needed. Before buying a new one it's worth considering an age old adage which goes 'you get what you pay for' and in the case of car batteries, this is most certainly the case.
  5. Hi Paul....welcome to the Forum The A7 sounds interesting....what mods have been carried out on it so far? Got any photos to post up to show the mods? Good to have you onboard. Cheers Trevor

  9. Hi Darren...welcome to the Forum Not entirely sure what the differences will be but if the bodyshell is the same then I would imagine the parts would fit and it is just superficial trim upgrades that occurred over the years. If you haven't already got the interior, there is a selection of components in the following link http://www.audiownersclub.com/parts-categories/A3-S3-RS3 Cheers Trevor
  10. Hi Tony....welcome to the Forum The system is upgradable, but at a cost! You may be better off getting an aftermarket stereo rather than going for an Audi unit. Keep us informed of the what you decide. Cheers Trevor
  11. Hi Yaz...welcome to the forum I would take it into an Audi specialist for them to scan the electronics and find out what is going on....especially as it's a brake related fault. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

  17. Just a thought but do they unscrew as there looks like a flat edge on the lower part of the prong? If not, I suppose you could grind saw them off almost flush then grind back what's left.

  21. Hi...and welcome to the Forum Sorry to hear you're having difficulties after the update...can't imagine how annoyed I would be if it were my car! We have had a couple of members on here mention that they have had the update and no issues as yet. However, it depends on how the update was carried out and if there is any option to reverse it to previous settings. Alternatively, I would find a VW Audi specialist equipped with the necessary diagnostic platform who can reset the Electronic Control Modules for the powertrain back to basic settings and go from there. Keep us informed of how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  22. Hi...and welcome to the Forum Remaps are always a good option as long as the company carrying out the work is reputable and offer some sort of warranty along with keeping original map in case of issues. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  23. I can only imagine that the prongs are connected through the roof with a nut under the headlining. Trouble is then, how do you plug the holes left in the roof?
  24. Hi Mick...welcome to the Forum I've found a link from an eBay store which lists the Air Suspension fitment across the Audi Q7 range....it seems like virtually all of the range had it fitted but at least you can drill down to see which model you want. Cheers Trevor
  25. Hi Bradley...welcome to the Forum Just looked the car up on Autotrader and DVLA....it seems like a genuine car. At that sort of money as well, it seems like a good purchase Let us know if you get it and how you get on with it all Cheers Trevor
