  1. Hello Krishna, Welcome, and thanks for joining. I my opinion, regrettably, trying to find the cause of such noises without access to the car, is an almost impossible task, and you could get no end of ‘try this, try that’ -at expense - and still not arrive at the right diagnosis. We could go through a process of asking you far more questions, but…. I think the ony sure and positive way forward is to get the car inspected and test driven at a either a trusted local independent, or local garage. Did you renew the front and rear springs in an attempt to eliminate the noise? Kind regards, Gareth.
  2. That’s very generous of you Tony. I hope they find an appreciative home. I’ve slightly altered your thread title. Kind regards, Gareth.
  3. Thanks Mike, is that £150 per wheel and tyre? Kind regards, Gareth.
  4. Hello Dany from the ‘World’, could you do us a couple of kindnesses:- (1) Perhaps reword your last post, so we can better understand what your situation actually was. (2) Change your profile location from ‘World’ to some meaningful location. Many thanks.
  5. Thanks Aimee, So the stop bit of the stop/start doesn’t work? since the car doesn’t cut out when you stop? Or have I got it wrong? What I would say is that your average daily driving time may not be adequate to retain the battery at its optimum level to maintain running all the systems it needs to. Of course, you are fortunate that you just have to book the car in with your chosen dealer, and all will be sorted under warranty - well at lease should be! Perhaps you would let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.m
  6. Hello Dave, It just doesn’t compute with my logic, that you are attempting to sort out electrical issues, by simple ‘visual means’, when a basic multimeter would be the minimum requirement. Sorry to say it as it is, but you simply aren’t equipped - equipment or knowledge wise to solve this - if as you maintain that your mechanical engineering skills don’t flow over to any interest/knowledge of electrics, since they are ‘not my thing’. I think a lot of us on here have had to develop skills beyond our qualifications, or we make a decision to leave the solving process to ‘those who know’. I think this is really what you now need to do Dave - source the services of a trusted local auto electrician. Good luck and kind regards, Gareth.
  7. Hello David, This has been going on for some time, and without reading back over all the posts:- Have you checked the flexible harness section twixt tailgate and body - looking for fractured wires? Have you now got yourself a multi-meter? Kind regards, Gareth.
  8. Hello Aimee, What is your daily journey plan for your car? The issue you have is typical of a below par battery, but this would need to be accessed by your dealer, and rectified under the warranty. Perhaps you could let us have the answer to the question, and then keep us informed on what goes on from there. Kind regards, Gareth.
  9. Well Steve, someone said I could be like a good wine, and will improve with age - I don’t believe it - but I am still blessing every day where I’m still able to do what I want to do. Some things are impossible, despite what my mind tells me! Take care and kind regards, Gareth.
  10. Hello Louis, Do you know which one of the 4? is defective? If it’s one of the outer (near corner) ones, it maybe relatively easy to access. If it’s a centre one, you may find it is more difficult and possibly you will need to remove the whole bumper to be able to get at it properly. Apart from access, the potential difficulties are disconnecting the actual connector plug ( can be fiddly), and then compressing the lugs which hold the sensor in the bumper. Replacements will need to be sprayed to colour match the car. Where to buy? Check out a site ‘LLL Parts’ ( tip courtesy of Stevey Y) and you should be able to get the Audi part numbers for the correct position one. Sit down before you ask for the Audi price! Search EBay and buy an aftermarket one for a fraction of that cost. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
  11. Sorry Brian, Should have realised it wasn’t main dealer due to age. Looks nice - Bristol car, with a good MOT history, and probably been with the last owner since 2018. Enjoy. Kind regards, Gareth.
  12. All sounds doable Scott, courtesy of used parts via. EBay. Good luck with the bangernomics principle. Kind regards, Gareth.
  13. Who are you getting it from Brian? Mr. Sinclair? Kind regards, Gareth.
  14. Is this information of any help to you Michael?
  15. Hello Sean, More possible good sources for you via. Steve. Just to clarify - Audi = £650, P in M = £922 a pair or £466 each, in comparison with Audi’s £650 each. I’m sure you will find what you want via. the alternative leads you have been given. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
  16. Would sound like it Daniel. Appreciating yours is more sophisticated than my ‘ancient’ A3, but all my DIY attempts proved fruitless. Kind regards, Gareth.
  17. Hello Brian, As I understand it, DVLA have been pretty quick in issuing V5s of late - a few days or so. Can’t the Audi dealer assist you with this. They obviously have direct online access to the DVLA registering system. Kind regards, Gareth.
  18. Thanks Sean, The company - ‘Parts in Motion’ - is a motor factor company based in Exeter, who supplies general car parts to the motor trade and public. Should be easily found via. a Google search. They are always my first port of call for all replacement components. If you do want to spend the money on genuine Audi parts (oh blinking heck prices!) then you could try Audi Parts Direct at Cardiff - part of Mon Motors, once Cardiff Audi. They often offer a bit of a discount, but be prepared that discounts are low, and I was recently told that even bone fide account holders are sometimes only getting around 7.5%. Let us know how you get on with your search this time Sean. Kind regards, Gareth.
  19. Hello George, Amazing what is talked about on You Tube! I think you have joined the band of those who have tried these methods - but like you - have failed. Apart from changing all the sensors, you will need to get it plugged in to find out which is the offender. You can then look on EBay and find an aftermarket one at a fraction of VAG’s price. Kind regards, Gareth.
  20. Welcome Mathew, and thanks for joining. Kind regards, Gareth.
  21. Welcome Sean, Tap the registration number into Parts in Motion’s website, and they should come up with some aftermarket ones from which to choose. Just come back to us if you have any difficulty with a choice. Kind regards, Gareth.
  22. Hello John, Thanks for joining and posting for advice. My advice would be to test the water, and advertise it on here at your valuation - with some photos - and see what attention it draws. I think you also need to list details of its service history, and its ownership history. You have to consider that you have a limited audience on here, so it would be well worth advertising on far broader mediums, such as Autotrader and EBay. Kind regards, Gareth.
  23. Hello Nathan from the Homeland, It might be me, but I’m a bit confused with the timeline on this. By what I can see, it fails on the 6th March, passes on 12th (just, but OK it passes), then fails again on another test on 20th March - why another test. You say the exhaust was leaking ( and this would certainly be a contributor to the high CO), but it’s difficult to get my head around why you would have presented it for an MOT with a leaking exhaust. The high HC is another worry, and I notice you have changed the oil, which is good. Plugs and plug gaps? A couple of questions Nathan:- How long have you owned the car, and if not long, did it come to you as a ‘project’? If you have had it some time, what has been the MOT history situation over the last couple of years? Does it have its original Cat? Aftermarket Cats. can often result in barely limping emission tests. Are you sure, the valve timing is spot on? I guess you are. If this were mine, I would be returning the whole thing back to ‘stock’ and going from there. Kind regards, Gareth.
