Yes, I've put an OBeleven on order. Should be with me Monday and then I can see for myself what's going on with Sammie.

I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up.

In terms of refinement, do folks think part of the difference is the suspension set up on the S-Line? like on the A5 which lowers with SLine.
Could well be. Plus the fact the A4 is bigger will keep it more planted.

Thanks for the heads up. Glad you got it sorted.

I'd definitely be considering the thermostat

Thanks guys, the cars I have currently shortlisted are all S-Tronic with mileage between 78 and 110k. Will the timing belt tensioners need to have been done at this kind of mileage?
Mist definitely. And make sure the gearbox has been serviced on time.

Problem resolved. I replace the tailgate lock. My conclusion is that the lock did not "signal" door open and this causes the towbar to not release etc....
Glad you got sorted 🙂

If you've bought it from a dealer then they have to fix it foc in the first 30 days from sale as you're still entitled to a full refund within that time.

Aftermarket exhaust?
If so, might be worth looking at powerflow exhausts. My brother and friend have oth used them and been happy with the product

Get it back to the supplying dealer for them to sort. It should be free of charge if you live in the UK as under consumer you have 30 days for a full refund.

The OBD scanner didn’t show any errors (probably cleared by the garage), but the light still remained. Everything “small” that could be related has been checked on the car. Module has been taken off and will be shipped tomorrow for reconditioning from Autotronics - delivery, VAT around £230. fingers crossed will be sorted 🤞🏼

So Steve I’m I right in saying it’s only manually operated via the switch. It doesn’t raise automatically when you’re going above a certain speed?
Like I said before the fault doesn’t appear on local journeys 🤔
That I'm not sure. If you go over 70mph it should raise automatically if it has that functionality.
But as you can manually control it via a switch then it's worth considering the switch to be at fault. Similar to how headlight switches causing light issues when they fail if that makes sense?
As I say it's just an educated guess.

I'll admit batteries cause electrical gremlins when they start to fail but usually very intermittent ones. As I say could it be the switch that controls the spoiler?
Or the sensor that controls it automatically raising/lowering

Dpf might need replacing if the cleaning doesn't work.
Regarding the power steering, how old is the car battery? I ask because if it's over 5-7 years old then it could be failing. This can cause the car to throw up all sorts of electrical issues.
