  1. Brill. I'll contact the organisers to get a club display ☺️
  2. Check the battery tray area near the bulkhead, or the pollen filter housing or the ac pipe. Or sunroof drain pipe if sunroof is fitted. Definitely try and dry it out best you can or get it looked at asap otherwise you could start having electrical issues.
  3. This could be an issue with the headlights switch. I know on the a6 c5 a failing switch can cause all sorts of odd headlight issues. I appreciate my car is older but it's definitely worth looking at. Alternatively you could get a diagnostic check carried out or get an auto electrician to take a look.
  4. I think it'll depend on which panel it is.
  5. When you're using your ventilation system is the econ button lit up? If so it would imply the ac isn't working at all which could mean a failed compressor. Regarding Cambelt I paid £600-£650 on mine at an independent garage. Baring in mind it's a front of the car off job or it definitely is on my a6 c5.
  6. Welcome to the forum Dom, sounds like you've got a good project there. The first job I'd do I'd the Cambelt and water pump. Regarding the wiper, my advice would be to dismantle the boot trim to inspect the motor and look for water ingress into the boot etc. Usually the motors seize due to water leaks. The central locking might need a diagnostic check as it could be a door module, remote signal receiver or an issue with the key. My advice would be to get an auto electrician to take a look. Regarding the mirrors the auto function might require you to get new mirrors with the function. It's the case with the a6 c5 like mine.
  7. Possibly, I'd mentioned nit more as a general thing.

  9. If you live in a speed hump or pot hole area like I do then I'd avoid. You could always look at a suspension kit from Bilstein or similar.
  10. You're welcome. I wonder if a msin dealer more advanced diagnostic machine would do it? Surely the steering rack can be dismantled and any module replaced?
  11. My advice would be to get it to a garage got a diagnostic check. This could be as simple as a failed battery or alternator. When you tried to start it was there any cranking or just nothing?
  12. Welcome to the forum Ian, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️ As you've had multiple electrical issues my first port of call would be the battery. How old is it? The life of a battery is usually 5-7 year average. Once they start to fail they can often throw up Various electrical gremlins simultaneously. Garages such as Halfords can do a battery test for free. This could also explain the failure of the start stop system. As it won't activate if the battery is dieing. As the car doesn't want to turn itself off and not start again. regarding your shocks if it were mine I would try and get genuine replacements. On my a6 c5 I had to replace my rear shocks in September with aftermarket parts as Audi no longer supply genuine ones. Ive got kyb shocks which see ok abd were reasonably priced. However long term I might get a full suspension set up from Bilstein or similar.
  13. I've found this YouTube video which might help as well as this link: https://victoriamgclub.com/steering-wheel-locked-on-my-audi-a6-what-can-i-do/ From.tbe.loojs of things you'll need to plug it into a diagnostic machine to check.
  14. Glad you got sorted 🙂 modern car electrics are a right pain! A d confusing!
  15. My advice is look at buyers guides on YouTube. But if you're doing 7k miles a year then I'd strongly recommend you get a petrol. The diesels like to do big mileages. And short journeys can block up the dpf & EGR as the engine doesn't get warm enough to get rid of the soot via a regeneration. This is where it burns off the soot particulates. They're around £1000 to replace.
  16. I think if it can be turned off you'll need someone who has access to vcds or similar software. These links might help: https://www.a1-forum.co.uk/threads/stop-start-and-hill-hold-assist.6917/ https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a4-b8-platform-discussion-128/how-can-i-remove-hill-holder-feature-2876403/
  17. First thing they'll do is a rest as it's the cheapest option

  19. No probs at all 🙂
  20. Can't say I've heard it before on your model. The fuel guage might need resetting on the ecu.
  21. Apologies I might have got wirers crossed. However if the garage are changing one under warranty surely they should be advising the other one to be changed too?
  22. It might be something as simple as the bulb holder cover not being secured correctly.
  23. Have a read of this: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-s8-d2-platform-discussion-8/check-out-pre-facelift-a8-bi-xenon-one-piece-headlight-1740906/ Needless to say I do t think it'll be cost effective as you'll need to change bumper, wings, bonnet at the very least.
  24. As Gareth has said they should be chdbged in pairs and the garage will know this. Therefore they've tried to cut corners. Honesty goes along way. They should have said that the other needed changing too even if it meant you paid for it. It's safety at the end of the day.
