When was your air con last serviced? And pollen filter changed? There could be stuff trapped within the system. Might be worth having the system checked.
Where does the smell originate from (front or rear)? If it's front could there be a leak into the cabin under the dash? (Through the bulkhead)
Cheers

Not sure to be honest, I'm still trying to get definitive numbers for vag Tuner Live also.

Erm, it could affect the regen being carried out. Normally it's the egr cooler that's at fault rather than the egr. Normally you change both though.

Your welcome :)
its worth replacing the relay. But like you I'm unsure if there's a module.
As long as the dpf isn't nearly full it should do the Bergen ok once fixed :)
in terms of the egr and egr cooler, replacing them is an expensive job. You'd probs be looking in the region of £1000. When I worked at Volkswagen in the service department it was common of VWs to come with this problem. It was mainly the 1.6 and 2.0tdi which were common.

Hello Matt, yes I do believe the dpf regent will not occur if the heater plugs have stopped working.
Not sure if the egr problems are connected to the heater plugs not working though. But I would doubt it.

Turned out to be both front bearings, got them sorted all in for £310, not too bad. Major service on top and she's purring like a kitten.
Thanks for the feedback gents!
Your welcome :)
glad it's all sorted :)

i would suspect at 4 years old your car is due an air con regas or service. This should be done ever 2-3 years as the air con looses gas over time. A regas should cost around £35 and a full service should be around £60.
On a full service they'll check for leaks and change the filter.

ordered a brand new Toledo 1.0 3 cylinder 110PS. excellence. £12k.
Glad you got sorted :)
sorry it's not an Audi though, but I quite understand :)
atleast with a brand new car you shouldn't have to worry about faults! But if you do get one it'll be under warranty ;)

If it were me I would use the recommended oil as per the handbook. I'm unsure if or what other oil you could use but I'm sure other members will be able to help :)

I'm with Gareth, I would certainly say your a4 has air con Brad :)
May just need a regard or air con service. Regis should cost approx £30 and a full service should cost around £60. the worst case scenario for the air con not working is a failed pump/condenser. This is the problem with my a6 but iv been quoted approx £1000 to fix the system!
In my case i know the air on doesn't work as the car puts econ on automatically and even when turned off it comes back on.

Oh I don't know , ever worked on a Citroen XM with an electrical fault😀or anyone for rear beam/trailing arm bearings on a 205/309 etc etc.I wouldn't give my laptop up for any of that nonsense. .....
Lol
lets face it. The French cars are wacky!
Oh just to mention. Fitting grooved or drilled discs could potentially increase your brake pad wear.

Good shout Steve, that deals with the hot gas/dust.This maybe my route thinking laterally, no mucking around just like for like .Many thanks. Maybe longer lasting lifetime hopefully ,as my days of driving 205's with 16 valve'ers on twin 45 as if I stole them have long gone 😅😅😅😅.Ah good days those.....
Glad I could help :)
btw iv moved this thread out of the recalls section to the a6 c6 section.

What if You get grooved or drilled discs of the same size as the standard discs?
Cheers
steve

I don't think you'd have to change anything apart from the discs. As long as they are the same size as your cuttent ones :)
if your going for discs are you changing to fast road pads too?
Cheers

Hi Yaz,
i believe you can damage the engine by not having the idle pulley.
Could you not call out a mobile mechanic to try and sort it?
