You can run a most check in vcds. But you would need to close the loop or plug in a bt module otherwise it will show a fault with open fibre optics

Are the seats from a8 all electric ?

Washers are standard with xenon lights. They operate evey now and again when washing windscreen. On my a6 c6 its every 5th time

You could replace just dr8ver seat from se if it will help

Sorry . You are talking about a4 ( i was thinking a6 lol ) . On a4 i think it was from 2007 Your v5 registration form will say special edition if it is one

I belive audi came up with the" special edition name" after 2009 when they wanted to sell of cars before introducing new platforms to the market.

I have always used premium before but... last march my mot failed due to tyres , i have 255/35/19 and got quoted just shy of £1000... i went to a local garage who said they have budget tyers £300 inc fitting balance etc. I went for it and i was supprised. They are very quiet, great in wet, wear after 1 year is minimum. Very happy :) even if they will last half the milage of premium tyers its still more cost effective than spending £1k

As above . Tank drain and clean, fuel filter change , also a long motorway drive with some fuel additive to burn out what is there ... carbon clean if needed

Control module for lights is located above/behind the glove box . Get a multimeter and check if there is any voltage in the plug going to the bulb

Se and sline have diffrent seats I have 2006 a6 3.0tdi sline lemans with sline seats. Love them . I have sat in se and yes they are more soft but sline are half bucket seats and they wrap around you nicley , yes they are harder to seat on. Also driver seat has electric lumbar support. So its all about personal preference ... If you are not far away you can try mine :) Also you need to think about ride hight and suspention. Se has standard soft and sline is lovered by 30mm and much harder.

Halogen or xenons ?

Ami are good but old fasion Google Dension 500bt Vns media bt Both have bluetooth streaming and usb/aux and will let you keep the cd changer I have dension for over a year and works great

Start by getting a scan for faults and see if there is any. Usuaaly this will put you on the right track where the problem is .

Cars are well build . Check for rust in and around the car , underneeth As to the engine its a 3.0tdi bmk unit . Mostly good but do suffer from chain and injector issues . With chain look for a 2 - 3 seconds metalic rattle on start up , its a sign of failing top tensioners. Costly to fix as the engine needs to come out ( chain is on the back of the engine )
