2012 Q5 TDI S-Line Buying help
Hi Gregor, Welcome. The DPF is an issue I have with my diesels over the years. The filter sensor comes on through a build up of particles that can not be cleared through light use of the engine. This isn't a problem as long as you run the engine at the recommended revs for the recommended period of time that the handbook details. Should this fail and the car goes into recovery/limp mode then a recovery service like the AA can help. It can run the engine through a set program via a laptop to discharge the built up particles. So the car kind of stops any damage being done itself. For more piece of mind you should look for full Audi service history on newer cars. this will indecate how it's previous owner/s cared. Ive had 3 Audi diesels over the past 12 years and done 5-6k a year in them with no problem all with FASH. Not too sure on the MOT issue here. Hope this helps

Coventry Transport Museum meet up
It is mainly old cars. Some drive around the city in procession. The war memorial park is big and the cars cover the whole of the main field. Along with the cars a fair, stalls and shows keep everyone busy. The park also has a small water park feature, a normal park, tennis courts and an on site cafe. This show is celebrating the city's heritage though I've seen other non city manufacturers clubs attend like Porsche BMW ect. Looks like it's in the first week in June not September and now it seems it's under the name MotoFest Coventry. Don't know how to insert a link here but if you search YouTube for Coventry motor festival you get a good idea of it.

Handbrake warning and brake warning issue
Hi Les, Welcome. Sorry to here about your problem, could be a few things so try these if you havnt already. Might be the ABS pump sensor. It's a common fault though a repair kit is available if it's this. Could be a weak battery. Or try disconnecting the brake fluid sensor. Hope this helps

Coventry Transport Museum meet up
We also have the car event at Cov Memorial Park in September. I go most years, it's always a big local attraction with many clubs attending. Might be better than the museum. Though the museum is class.

Simply Audi - new event for 2018! Chat thread
Hi guys. Could you tell me what goes on with this event please? Not been to the place before or attended on of the forums meets. I'm not too far away from Steve but the event is miles away and will take a few hours travel so what's everyone doing? Thanks

2009 A3 Armrest Centre console - Clip help?!?!
Hello Lee, The centre arm clip is a common issue and as already said the part is not sold from Audi separately. You might be best getting a second hand part from a breakers if you can not live with the magnet. Your car sounds like maybe it has a clutch issue. Any history paper work will show if this has already been replaced.

My A3 2.0 TDI S-Line
Nice car David. Great colour, goes nice with the silver trim and the roof rails(an optional extra). You def made the right choice 👍

Best ever car colours
Gotta be Misano Red in BLack Edition trim. Stunning in the sun. If I knew how to post photos face palm........ Second choice would be Tucan Yellow. Had a Mk2 A3 special ed in that and had so many nice comments from strangers. Again if only I could post photos lol

Running in a new engine
Hi Graham, I think you should drive conservatively to bed in all running gear for first few hundred miles at least. I would allow the auto to take charge of any changes. This would be so you know it's working correctly. I had the DSG box in one of my other A3s, it was a dream and I never really used manual as auto is so relaxing to drive. Sorry for the very late reply and hope this helps - Adam

decided to buy an A3, a few question's,
Hello Hermit, As Steve has pointedly out FSI is engine information for Audis petrol engine. Regarding the car spec on A3 - base models will be advertised as A3 1.6FSI with no other acronyms. Then you will typically get the SE or Sport models as mid range cars that cater for different buyers with s-line being the top spec standard cars. The special edition if my memory serves was just before the slight face lift in the mk2 A3. So the special edition cars normally have different alloy wheels slightly different trims and a few extra electrical features in the early mk2 cars. Later we see black edition models that are based on s-line trim. You really want a car that's been looked after with plenty of history to back this up. Mileage isn't really a problem but the 1.6 has no real power. Not to put you off cause any A3 is worth having. Hope this helps - Adam
