  2. Um. Not an adjective I would associate with a classic car club.
  3. Today
  4. Yes it was, but I could only see the damaged wires once I pulled all the wires back through the door.
  5. Hi Bob, did you manage to sell your car? If not, can you confirm which engine it is and any known faults/issues. thanks richard
  6. Hello fellow enthusiasts, we are looking for the nicest Audi A4 cabriolet with auto transmission as a long term keeper. No white or shouty colours please. Full service history and immaculate condition is what we would like. Ideally within 50 miles of Nottingham/Lincoln. what have you got which you might be willing to sell?
  7. I need to know what too, but the print out is vague
  8. Thanks Doug, I have emailed the letter directly to Audi UK, but as you went through your local dealer and they honoured it I think i'll also send them one for good measure. Thanks
  9. Hello im new to this forum, hoping someone could shed some light on light on an issue. Got a 2017 A6 Allroad engine light came on so got it checked at local garage came up with a fault code of P191A00 loss of crankshaft Synchronization. Has anyone ever come across this fault? thank you in anticipation.
  10. Thanks Cliff, There are a lot of factors to consider. There are pros too.
  11. This thread should help:
  12. So, I took the car out for an eight or nine-mile trip today - to get some breakfast... ...which was very pleasant. On the way home, in addition to the DPF light (which had been on from the get-go), I got the flashing glow-plug light, shortly followed by the check engine light. The triumvirate of misery... ☹️ When I got home, I plugged Carly in, and after 20 minutes or so, got the following result: The Smart Mechanic says: ...and goes on to say... So, it doesn't tell me much more than the light on the dash. My DPF is clogged and isn't re-genning as it should. No clue as to why... 🤔 It mentions a control unit - anyone know what/where this is please? Thanks, Mike 😎
  13. Once again I can only hear broken audio so all I can suggest is to take the car back for diagnosis.
  14. Glad you had it done and it's made the car nicer. Well done for getting the gearbox remapped too as this often gets overlooked.
  15. Will have a look at the wires you suggested, Watch this space will let you know.
  16. Apologies I've only just seen this. I still have the A6 but no further forward to be honest. They definitely become a labour of love. The issue I've found with the 2.5tdi V6 is parts availablity for the engine now. How are you getting on with yours?
  17. Ideally you'll need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. It might also be worth contacting Audi to see if there's a software update available for the mmi.

  19. Example for the Audi A6 2019 (MY2020). Part list as it did not fit on the screen grab.
  20. Wasted advice I'm afraid Steve. Swansea has not been back to the forum since posting his question.
  21. Yes, no issues again today. I'll see how it goes, will let you know if there's any further developments. Rgds, Rich
  22. Pd engine is a very reliable engine. Check for mayo round the oil filler. Might be worth getting the engine pressure tested. Obviously worse case scenario is a head gasket.
  23. Sorry to hear this. If the warranty company are refusing to honour the unlimited labour rate then I'd argue this is warranty has been miss sold. So the dealer is partly responsible for this. I'd open a case with the motoring ombudsman but you'll be waiting 4 months for a case to be assigned.
  24. I had mine plugged it don't really come up with much they are saying it's a electrical fault between gearbox and brain of car
  25. Thanks Steve, Ill let you know how I get on.
  26. You didn’t let us know what tyre brands are currently fitted Frank. Have you checked the listed noise rating on them? How much tread is left, since tyres generally get noisier as they wear? You really do need to give us all the information- problem and what you have already done to try to solve it, otherwise we will end up suggesting you do what you have already done - again. Regards, Gareth.
  27. At least you can rule out the battery. It might be worth getting a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up
