Hi, I have an intermittent EGR insufficient flow fault occurring on my 3.0TDI Avant, bringing on the check engine light. Been happening on and off (and by off, I mean often seemingly clearing itself and the check engine light) since 2022. No loss of power or any other symptoms. Decided to sort it last month by having a TerraClean carried out at my local approved centre. Two cleaning attempts (including cleaning the EGR cooler off the car) AND a new EGR valve and vacuum solenoid valve later, I'm still getting intermittent EGR insufficient flow faults occurring AND the check engine light comes on and goes off without clearing the fault. Anyone experienced this before and have any idea what's causing this? Thanks Chris

Actually probably yes. But would definitely not have bought it (£10k in 2023) if it had CC but it didn't work. Actually I'm thinking of changing it anyway as it's done nearly 100k miles. It's a lovely car but I don't really need the quattro, and it is really thirsty. Best I can get on a long motorway run at steady 60-70mph is abuot 45mpg

Hi All, Interested to hear from other owners if they are having the same faults as we are with the Q6, yes we were one of the first in the country to have the Q6 but our fault list is long and nothing seems to be getting done to resolve them, interested to read if others have the same faults. I cleared 263 error codes, must check again. Our list is below, Unable to Start Vehicle Contact Workshop - This one left my wife stranded as would not do anything said had a major fault and to contact the workshop, closed car, waited a couple of minutes, entered car and issue not there anymore. Driver Aid System - multiple faults and warnings with flashing yellow and red symbols from not working to go to workshop faults, turn off, wait a few seconds, turn on and problem gone. Headlights sometimes do not come on when starting the car - Sidelights and Matrix high beam assist works but the dipped headlights sometimes do not come on and you have a black dark hole of lighting ahead of the side lights and then watch the Matrix high beam assist doing a dance ahead. Tailgate - Double press the remote button twice quickly or slowly makes no difference, boot will sometime open, open a few inches and close, open and stop meaning you have to push the boot shut by hand to get it to open again etc etc. Road Speeds - The camera based system ignores road signs and will put up anything, had it say 30 mph on a motorway, 70 mph on single lanes, when using cruise control it goes wrong as has wrong speeds ands either tries to slow you right down to a dangerous speed or speed you up to break the speed limit. Entertainment System - Sometimes works sometimes does not work, sometimes connects to the phone other times says no phone, no music and then music comes on at full volume. In Car Electronics - Forgets driver profiles, seat position, anything related to each setup on each persons name. Audi App - Sometimes connects to the car other times does not and shows error codes, does not send any notifications despite being setup correctly, reported over 6 months ago and just get the same e-mail once a week that they are trying to resolve the issues, app is upto date, removed installed makes no difference. Emergency Braking - car will do a random emergency brake at random times, pulling away from roundabouts when no one else is around, reversing into our driveway when your no where near anything. I am sure we are missing something but what are others finding?

Hello Tristian, The videos don’t work for me, but judging from the photos, the lip looks sufficient to renew the discs. You have to consider the on going wear situation at the end of the life of the pads you are going to replace. Noise? If you are intending to buy discs and pads, then I’m currently ‘experimenting’ with Brembo - to good effect. You could try Parts in Motion for competitive prices and good service - no personal connection. Regards, Gareth.

You will need to remove door sill trims, loosen the centre console side trims and from under the dash near glovebox.

Don’t forget to disconnect the n battery for 30mins before disconnecting any under-seat electrical connectors - or run the risk of air bags going off. Regards, Gareth.

Hello guys, I am new here and I am looking for the help with my audi a6 c7 2014 I've had an water leakage in my front left headlight so I had changed the ballasts on it but still not working, so I have bought new pair of headlights and the fault stil remain Faults on headlights are: Left side headlight doesn't work at all, no indicator,no DRL, no main nothing even though its brand new headlight Right side showing issue on main beam and DRL I have been at audi and they cannot locate the fault,they thinking that it is something with wiring harness that goes to headlight Has anyone had same issue before, can you guys pls help me ?? It costs me a lot of time and money already pls help

Hello! I have a problem with my 2013–2016 Audi A4 B8.5 2.0 TDI 177 hp Quattro 6-speed manual. I’m getting the "Steering Lock: Contact Workshop" error on the dashboard. In VCDS, the error appears in 05 - Acc/Start Auth. as 03026 - Enabling Terminal 15 with faults 006 and 009 (Short to Ground / Short to Plus). The ignition turns on, but after pressing the clutch and pushing the key again, the car doesn’t even attempt to crank. Instead, it turns the ignition off. If I hold the clutch pedal down with the key in the ignition slot, it eventually starts after multiple attempts—sometimes on the second try, sometimes on the 20th. This error and starting issue are intermittent. If I clear the error or disconnect the battery, it works for 1–2 days (or less). The battery is fine; it was replaced last year and coded to the car. The steering lock also functions correctly—the wheel has never locked or failed to unlock. This issue occurred last year. The mechanic opened the plenum chamber under the windscreen, cleaned the cables in the junction box (center of the plenum) with sandpaper, and sprayed them with contact cleaner. I repeated this process this year, but it didn’t help, and the cables showed no visible oxidation. Worth noting: I’ve had drainage problems in the plenum chamber. Water pooled there because the drains were blocked. The issue happened last year during heavy rain and has recurred this year under similar conditions. Even though you're out of the 30 days you're still covered under the consumer law. If a fault occurs with a car or item in the first 6 months of purchase it is assumed the fault was there from when it was purchased. My brother is going through this now and getting his car fixed free of charge. It needed an abs pump (£3k bill!).

all seems to point to steering angle sensor but could this be set off by a faulty wheel sensor??....i can hear a slight grating as i drive between houses....drivers side not sure front of back??.....my airbag light doesnt seem to want to go out ..it goes out for a second when my mate tried turning it off with his magic machine ....i dont wanna buy a steering sensor if i dont need one but i might have to

Have the engine mounts and gearbox mounts been checked? As the movement could cause noise. Could it be something to do with liquid sloshing when I get loads and it throwing off the sensors? For example when I had an issue with my A6 washer bottle leaking it wouldn't always tell me it was low unless the washer fluid moved away from the sensor if that makes sense.
