  2. ooof! £200 is wild for what it actually is. I did purchase the part linked and have been running it for a few months now with no issue. It just stings when you see the alternate part for the later versions of this engine going for £25 - £30 for well known aftermarket manufacturers. Either way I hope it helps with OP!
  3. Hi the part you have found is incredibly cheap for a genuine part, try Audi at about £200 and thats if you can get one from them. Steve.
  4. Hi Cliff P2002 is like the tax man it won't go away unless you pay for it, just discovered Jimmy O Riley's latest Ultra posting whereby the code is present and can't be cleared due to some Clown trying to delete Low/High pressure DPF software so even after cleaning the code won't go and the DPF won't regenerate, he apparently now has the facility to re flash the ECU with the standard software and that seems to work but only after cleaning, he also states that the problem will always return because of the design, believe me it always came back on my car and that had practically every emissions part renewed at some point, they are just money pits. Steve.
  5. Hi, checked Ebay and FB marketplace. I cannot see anything in reasonable condition/price ratio. Posted a request to Parts Gateway, still no response. Any other parts breaker sites you can recommend?
  6. Where have you looked so far then Peter? Have you also registered your ‘want’ on some of the online car breaker link sites?
  7. Many thanks for joining Eric. You are very welcome. Regards, Gareth.

  11. Q7s from this era were primarily V6 TDi engines in 218PS and 272PS variants. SQ7 used V8 diesel. Think there was also 2.0TFSI model, but relatively rare and given it's thirst to shift the best part of 2 tonnes, it wouldn't be economical. Some also use plug in battery (E-tron), potentially gives you additional 30 miles. I know that can cause a bit of grief if it goes wrong. All paired with Tiptronic 8-speed boxes. Like everything, the diesel models are all chain drive, and servicing is crucial. That means oil changes every 8-10k miles or less if previous owner was particularly fastidious. V6 engine is a solid workhorse. I've never driven one, but have the 272PS engine in my A4 Allroad and would be the one I would choose. 600Nm of torque and will return 50mpg if driven sensibly, less in a Q7 though I'd expect the Q7 to go through tyres and brakes, so factor that in. Can also pull impressive 2800kg if there's a towbar. These engines don't tend to use oil. However as it's diesel, Euro 6, then you are into AdBlue, DPF, EGR, cats, etc. Better to have a car that's done regular annual mileage. These engines don't like short runs, or you're into emission territory and potential carbon build up. Suspension - standard multi-link or adaptive air suspension from what I understand. 100k plus mileage, you're likely into replacing bushes if not already done.

  16. Hi Vytas, just another question about the A4 B9 heater core replacement. See when re-filling with new coolant after you've changed the core, did you use any special tools like a vacum filler to refill it & bleed it? Or did you just pour it in slowly & start the engine & idle for a few minutes? Many thanks
  17. While I wait for the repair on my (probably) oil oiler gasket got to thinking about the rubbish DBA signal in my 2009 C6. Admittedlyi live in a generally rubbish area for radio in general, FM is kak too, DBA drops out where ever i am, all the time. Is this normal? Anyone know if there a fix? Thanks in advance ☺️

  20. I'd also get your timing chain checked, sounds like it could be stretched especially at that mileage. The sooner you check it the better as leaving it could be terminal.
  21. Hey all, Newbie here and just looking for advice. I have an early 2007 A3 8P I'm slowly working on getting in good running order as well as aiming for an OEM+ build to learn more about cars. This weekend I attempted to install a turbo muffler delete, however once I get in there I realised the bolt patterns were completely off. Does anyone here know if there is a turbo muffler delete that would fit this pattern? Everything I search for is coming up with the symmetric bolt pattern, not the asymmetric. Photo for context, left is OEM and right is the incorrect delete I purchased. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
  22. Hey! Sorry if I'm reviving a dead sub, but I had this exact issue. I did manage to find one although it was very expensive: https://www.oemvwshop.com/06h129101b-pressure-relief-valve-p358193/ The gaskets for the ones you find on eBay do fit however, you just need to cut off the extra port.

  25. hi gareth. thanks for getting back so quickly no problem, any and all advice is appreciated, seen a few youtube vids and im hooked on the Q7 or even the SQ7 if its right. Just want to know what to expect on the “older” models Maintenance wise. regards Owen
  26. Hi All 2018 S3 Sportback. A recent service has flagged a fault with exhaust flap 1 actuator as open circuit. Whilst it does not affect the running of the car it would be good to rectify. I have done some preliminary checks. Flap actuator 2 is fine and the fault does not move when I interchange the actuators. Wiring at the connector is OK. From the wiring diagram, the circuit splits to feed both actuators somewhere in the harness at point B350, “Positive connection 1 (87a) in wiring harness”. Without me having to start dismantling the trim, would anyone have an idea of where this point would be in the car? Thanks in advance.
  27. Welcome Owen, and thanks for joining. I’m sure a couple of owners will be along soon to guide you with your queries. Regards, Gareth.
  28. Hello Apologies if this is not allowed as i dont own an audi just wondering what to expect on a Q7/Sq7 model from 2015-2019, id like one with around 50-80k miles (or whatever is average for age). is there any timing chains, gaskets etc which need changed soon. i would prefer an engine which has no critical plastic parts but it would be getting serviced appropriately with an oil change every 5k miles . i wouldnt be driving it daily as i have a work van. thought id ask actual drivers of the cars. Thanks for reading Regards Owen

  30. As said a year ago Colin. If they are original fitment then just look where I advised you to last year. If they weren’t an available and acceptable fitment - good luck with your insurance. Regards, Gareth.

  32. I have a 2018 S3 and 2019 A3 1.5 TFSI. I do all my own servicing and change the oil at 8000 miles. The A3 has done 91000 and the only thing we have done is change the DSG clutch pack. The mechanic showed us the one that came out and reckoned it had a lot more life in it but we had a fault message and juddering in the low gears. It has been a great reliable car as has the S3. Having done some research these engines can go for 150K plus. I run my cars into the ground so hope this is the case. FYI I saw a 2018 Toyota Prius hybrid with 330000 on the clock. This chap had the car from new and changed the oil every 8000 miles. Not sure on the finance bit as I buy the cars outright but I feel confident they have plent of miles in them.
