  3. I'd say it is more likely related to power steering than AC.
  4. Primed pressurised fuel lines can hold 1-2 litres (diesels). For context I’ve got the 73 litre tank capacity. I’ve ran my tdi 40 unintentionally to 12 mile range (according to dashboard) I filled up and put 61 litres back in. so I knew that I had well over 10 litres in the tank but as others have said your destroy the pump and most likely be sucking up debris that unfortunately does get through petrol pumps. Not recommended to let it go below 1/4 of a tank if you can.
  5. I’d thought I’d check in on this as my tdi 40 is now coming up to 3 years old. My a/c is always on during summer without fail. This is the first time I’ve ever heard this, this loud. I normally can mainly hear it in the cabin when turning steering wheel on full lock, you know that a/c moan/groan sound. it sounds like the condenser fan blowing, picks up pitch and rhythm with rev counter. So I’m going to assume it’s probably belt related. Anyone experienced this? I’ve booked it in but typical main dealer response ‘ this is fairly normal’ ‘have you added refrigerant in the last 12 months’ For context it was regassed last year even though I had no concerns I just do it given that I know the gas will leak and also lubricates the system.

  7. Hi try reading the MAF and MAP sensor readings on live data when cold start, I would guess it could be the MAF sensor if its the original unit as they tend to play about when they get old. Steve.
  8. Thanks Paul, Never heard of that brand - let’s hope it turns out good - and lasts. I don’t go for good deals (cheap) on quality-critical batteries, but aim to get respected brands at competitive prices. Regards, Gareth.
  9. Not fixed yet the Audi dealer is too busy to look at it however they did advise NOT to turn the stop start off, so far so good it hasn't shut down again but despite being on the stop start doesn't work as it should, the engine ticks over without stopping. I appreciate the advise to contact Audi road service so I'll give them a call. Thanks everyone for the helpful comments.
  10. Hello all. I have recently changed my 2012 A6 for a 2014 as above. The car is in nice condition but it is using a bit of oil. I have done about 400 miles in it since Tuesday this week and already the oil level has dropped quite a bit. My 2012 Audi did not have this problem . Is it because it is a 3L V6 or does this have a potential oil problem? Many thanks

  14. Cheers, its on finance, been doing some reading have upto 6 months for them to attempt 1 repair, but presumably will have to get proper diagnotics, will take it to AUDI specialist to have checked over, god knows how much that will cost. and checked the P number lable in boot and gear box type is NYM From internet: The Audi "NYM" is an 8-speed Multitronic automatic transmission, which is a type of Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) And the gearbox filter just had changed is the round thing that goes in top of gearbox. I wish it wasent CVT (own fault for not doing enough research, but will see, I have been trying to do some research and people have said this thing has mind of its own and when use manual to drop gear it can go back into normal automode by itself if thinks may be at risjk of causing an issue, as I say there are no fault codes on gearbox, its dosent slip under accelartion, just this slight hesitation when moving off when warm. Apart from that eveything else is smooth.
  15. Hi, not sorted yet, everything points to the fact that they are correct, even from the manufacturer. I’ve decided to go with OEM from Audi. Paying for a job twice isn’t the best and the cost for Audi ones are quite expensive compared to aftermarket. Not sure I’ll get the money back on the springs. Once again, hindsight is a wonderful thing and thank you for asking.

  20. It's a bug. Both my current A3 and my previous Q3 both constantly showed "Irregularities detected" and Windows "rear open" in the myAudi app. Needless to say, all doors and windows were securely closed and locked. I did post a comment to that effect in the Apple App Store but no sign of a fix.

  23. Hi All, can someone help and advise the part number for c6 avant, fwd, 2.0tdi rear subframe, please? I am struggling to find one.
  24. Tom. Do please let us know the outcome, because if your problem is solved by a software update like Joe and Alan it would indicate a systemic problem that other owners need to know about.

  26. Failure of flap motors/linkages crops up regularly in these forums, so I'd agree that's the place to look first.
  27. Try opening and closing rear windows to see if that will reset the message.
  28. Son had the same with his gti. Called vw recovery and identified a software fault. All fixed in under an hour. Main dealer could not find the fault! They tried changing modules.

  32. Mornin' all The MyAudi app on my phone is showing Irregularities detected in the Status section: 'Rear Windows open'. They are not open, and I am unable to clear this message. Any ideas? Best regards.
  33. Hello, I've got a 2015 3.0 BiTdi Allroad. I get a rough idle when then engine is cold. Feels like a cylinder misfiring. Once up to temp, it's fine. The car has been used a bit more for short journeys than I'd have liked. There are no error codes on VCDS. I changed all the glow plugs recently as one had gone down. Could it be some carbon build-up? Is there anything I should be looking at in VCDS to help diagnose the issue? If it is carbon, what needs removing and cleaning? Thanks
  34. I had an issue in January a couple of weeks after taking delivery of the same model - warning lights and limp home mode advised during a short journey. Similar story - dealer couldn't book me in for three weeks, but advised calling Audi Roadside Assistance. I did this, and a couple of hours later the technician arrived, ran diagnostics and discovered a software issue that was fixed with an update. Might be worth a call to Assistance to see if they can come out and at least diagnose the problem.
  35. hi josh ive been following this thread and im amazed at your attitude towards people trying to help you with your situation, you mention rudeness in your previous post but i think the only person being rude is you,i dont think youl get much help anywhere with your engine problem unless you realise that you are a big part of that problem, best of luck,Greg
  36. I'm sure I've seen this with other new Audi models. I think there's a software update for the issue.
  37. Nice, looking forward to seeing how this develops
