  2. All I can suggest is an Audi dealer or Ebay, but your mechanic probably has more idea than me where to buy the parts he needs.

  5. Hi Cliff, you are correct, I’m not very familiar of the names of the items. My car is currently at a mechanics bit due to the age they are struggling to find the parts. Do you know of anywhere where we can purchase the hoses? I have also checked and it looks like only a couple are in tack so it might be easier to replace all of they come as a bundle.

  7. Are you referring to coolant hoses, vacuum hoses, inlet air hoses, or hydraulic hoses? Forgive me Kyri, but my impression is that you are unfamiliar with anything under the bonnet. If that is the case I suggest you visit a garage to solve your problem.
  8. I'm trying to resolve an issue with the drivers seat not heating. I have error code 01854 after scanning with VCDS. Has anyone had their seat apart to try and resolve this, which I assume is a broken wire in the heating mat? I'm currently going through the wiring diagram, but having an issue finding one of the connectors. The one in question is T8c, an 8-pin connector under the drivers seat, which I can't find. I can find the 2-pin T2aa and the 6-pin T6e one, but can't check for continuity as I can't find T8c. There are four wires wrapped in tape that disappear into the foam base of the seat, and I was wondering if the 8-pin plug is hidden in there. I'd rather have someone confirm that if possible before I start pulling the entire base apart to get access to it. I've checked the continuity of the heating mat in the backrest and that appears fine.
  9. Hi, does anyone know how i can replace the majority of the rubber pipes under the bonnet. i have a 2003 S3 8L and have some pipes split. Any ideas?

  13. Please let us know how you get on Dev.
  14. For the benefit of others - did you try Aliexpress after?
  15. Hi no Audi don't do mudflaps for this car I'm currently looking at aftermarket thanks for your help anyway
  16. Hi Gareth, yes thats correct. Bought the car independently so want to get a main dealer to give it a once over for peace of mind. Enjoying it this, its lovely especially in this weather with th top down.
  17. Was this advice any help to you Keith?
  18. Thanks Dev - not in the brethren! Surely you didn’t buy it from a main dealer. Guess you must be saying the car is new to you, so you want it assessed at a main dealer.
  19. Hi its overdue for a change as the sensible rule adhered to by most independent garages is 80,000 or four years whichever comes first, did that with my daughters Q3 and that made 247,000 before she sold it, good aftermarket kits are GATES OR DAYCO. Steve.

  24. The connections I have are from Rock Auto for the ZF rebuild kit. Maybe try Autodoc which I think is in Germany?? They ship to you. Or try https://alvadi.ch/en/ They are an Estonian based company. Transgo is an American company. Rock Auto is American too.. I don't know what is happening re shipping to you from them. If you look up the Transgo kit on Rock Auto or Transgo itself, they give instruction sheets regarding install. I had a tranny shop do it. It can be done by you, it is not for the faint of heart though. ZF Rebuild is likely for professional tranny shop. Special tools likely. But I don't know. 26. Hi Gareth, Please accept my apologies. Mileage about 65500. Yes to stop start.
  27. Welcome Pat, Just do a forum search on here for Timing belt or Cambelt, and you will find the topic has been discussed to death, and should allow you to make a decision on whether you wish to follow VAG’s advice - at your peril ( personal opinion) or take a more sensible approach. Perhaps you could let us know what you decide to do, once all the comments have been digested. Regards, Gareth. p.s. What is your current mileage, and is the stop/start always deployed.
  28. LOL, I know what you are saying bro. Just want the first one done from them for peace of mind. I have found a very good independent Audi Specialist so will use him going forward.
  29. Thanks Dev, Still blinking heck in relation to an oil change at any main dealer.

  31. Hi, I'm Pat and I own a Q3 - I have joined today. What is the required period for replacement of the timing belt. In the last 6 months I have become aware of belt failures in Ford Escorts, Volvo XC60 and an Audi A3. I have spoken with many people and been given ranges from 40k to 186k. Being totally confused, I went into my local Audi Dealer (Farnborough) to get a definitive answer. Having explained my confusion to the representative there, I was shown a document entitled Service Related Items. The document consisted of 1 page only and it did not specify what models the inspections applied to. I was allowed to take a photo of the document. Regarding the timing belt - it listed the replacement frequency as 186,500 miles or 15 years. I'm even more confused now. Thoughts please.

  33. Audi are doing a co.plimentary check for me while doing the oil change. Let's see what the report says. Thanks
  34. I don't believe you will have the the luxury of selecting a "good home" for a 27 year old car that has not been used for a couple of years. It will be a case of accepting what anyone will offer.
  35. Apologies for the delay Karl, Yes, generally the old 18k oil change interval. Fine for the first few years, but from there on….? Has the stop/start been used during your ownership? If so, this can be a serious aggravator. I fear your only realistic way forward would be to try to find an engine from an accident damaged vehicle. Listing your want on one of the on-line car breaker link sights maybe a starting point. Partsfinder is one of many. Regards, Gareth.
  36. Blinking heck Dev - you must have got money to throw away - taking an 11 year old car to a main dealer at a cost of c£200/hr. Why not return it to the place where the damage was repaired ? Regards, Gareth.
  37. Welcome Dave, This is a little confusing since ‘…..I am reluctant to sell it….’ Yet ‘…..grateful for advice of where to sell it….’. OK, you could advertise it on here with photos, description, and price, or list it on EBay to a wider audience. Please let us know what best suits you. Regards, Gareth.
