Hello Tony, Further to the PM you sent me. Your video doesn’t work on my system. If all the entries in the service book are supported by invoices rather than card payment receipts then I would be less suspicious of lack of a business stamp for each of the service book entries. You tell me - in effect- you aren’t experienced enough to form a decision yourself. If I was in your position I wouldn’t entertain proceeding with any deal without having an independent examination of the car. Regards, Gareth.

Thanks for getting back to me. Was planning on getting it booked in this week to get it checked. Got in the car today and put in reverse and then all of a sudden the sensors worked for like 2 seconds. I'm guessing a loose wire somewhere

Sorry my bad it's what I interpreted from your original post. Apologies

To be honest Tony, I misread it as you suggesting TFSI not Steve. Apologies to you both. It's time I closed the computer and opened the wine.

Glad to hear you have solved the problem. It goes to show how ineffective or misleading low quality OBD readers can be. The website you linked to could prove very useful to us in the future when we are asked about fuse locations. I'll try to bookmark it where I can find it again. https://car-box.info/ -
I told him it was a tdi lol

Hi. So got a full vcds on it and it came up with 0567 terminal 15 009 open or short to ground. After alot off looking Internet and in the car. Found the relay responsible link was extremely helpful https://car-box.info/audi/a6/c6-2004-2011.html#sect2.3 used to find it. was a bit of a bugger to locate. Swapped it out with another 370 relay and bobs your uncle. 20250622_172939.heic 20250622_144853.heic

What! The video clearly shows it to be a diesel. It has TDI on the boot lid.

This engine is the 2.0tdi the tfsi is petrol i think

If the deal seems too good to be true it probably is. The 2.0 tfsi is notorious for oil consumption and eating piston rings. The only cure is an engine rebuild.

This would be the only issue or its an issua in adition to the ones you mentioned? Could a defective imobiliser also prevent the engine from starting and also turn off the engine suddently. Those happens when its hot weather only. -

Masontonylee. I have merged your identical topics because duplicate topics lead to confusion and dilution of effort. Please do not create duplicates. It won't get you any extra attention.

Never mind what the seller told you, can he provide written evidence of the car's service history? If he can not, walk away from the deal unless you fancy some expensive repair bills. Relying on a video and the vendor's patter to inform a purchase decision is something you will regret for ever. Go see the car, drive it, and examine the paperwork. If you don't feel confident enough in your own judgement take a knowledgeable friend or get the car independently examined. I believe the RAC or AA can provide that service. Above all don't rush into a decision. If you miss out on this one there will always be another.

Hi Tony. Sounds OK to me. But I am no mechanic either. The other thing is, how many miles and how much. Tony
