  2. When I suggested to Audi they have a ‘ battery not charging ‘ light they told me this was no longer an EU build spec requirement. With so many systems requiring power you would think such a light should be even more important , but the Brussels mandarins who all go to work on a bike do not think so?
  3. GPS jamming or spoofing is well known over the Baltic Sea near Russia, but over Wigan?
  4. I am getting only broken audio, not video, sounding like an engine revving. Nevertheless I suggest you take it back to whoever did the job for a diagnosis.
  5. At the risk of stating the obvious, there is a leak that needs to be traced and fixed. Have you looked to see where it is coming out? If you bought it from a dealer in the last month take it back for a free repair or refund.
  6. I've been driving automatics for more than forty years, even the slow and sluggish changing ones, because I am a lazy driver. I never understood why folk would tolerate a metal pole sticking up from the floor that they had to wriggle around like stirring a pan of porridge just to make the car go from A to B.
  7. I am not sure that is possible. There is a legal requirement in what used to be the Construction and Use Regulations for the indicators to be clearly audible, so I doubt the volume would be adjustable by a user. Can you tell us why you want to turn it up? Do you have a hearing problem? Is there other noise in the car drowning out the indicators?

  9. Hi all. I'm looking to purchase a 2017 S6 saloon. The one I am looking at has done 64k miles, had full Audi history, except for 2 services that were done at a Saab main dealer for some reason. Its up for 23k I am aware of common issues such as air suspension, and turbo screen problems. But, is there anything else I should look out for? Also, does anyone know where I can see a copy of the service schedule for these cars? What's due when etc... The dealer has a print out of when the services have been carried out and mileage, but no details as to what has actually been done. The main thing I am looking for is when the gearbox is due for a service, and if its been done, along with any other services that may be due on the rear diff. I've tried looking on line and with Audi but cant seem to find much. Thanks Dan
  10. Thanks - However, last week had the dreaded StarterNator failure. I gave the Audi Dealer a copy of the Audi document that shows this fault is now covered FOC for cars up to 7 years old. Looking elsewhere on the forum, it appears that some Audi dealers appear not to be aware of this and some people have had to pay the associated very large bill. My car has a 9G8 reference in the build codes which meant it was covered. Text of the document as follows: Recall reference R/2020/265 Recall Type Car Recall Date 2020-10-02 Reason for concern MOISTURE MAY ENTER THE BELT DRIVEN STARTER-ALTERNATOR Reason for recall It is possible that moisture may enter the belt-driven starter-alternator. Remedy The starter-alternator must be replaced on the affected vehicles. How to check if the vehicle is recalled Contact the local AUDI dealership or manufacturer. You will not need to pay for anything involving the recall. How the manufacturer will repair The Recalled vehicles will have the fixing checked and corrected as necessary by and official AUDI service. AUDI Reference ID 27H8
  11. Audi Q7 Quattro 2024 limited edition - struggling with apple car play working wirelessly. I get this message - everything is set up but then my phone is faded grey on system display. Only works if plugged in. another point is the wi fi ir connects to Audi mini wi fi - but doesn’t work - I had to turn off wi fi yesterday to get google maps to work
  12. Glad you got sorted 🙂
  13. This member has a similar issue and his mechanic did this temporary fix:
  14. My new car - delivered in Nov 19 had this maddening and rather scary issue. It is called ‘step-off delay’. My Audi dealer found that there was a gearbox software update available. The update was carried out and I finally had the car I thought I had bought. The issue was corrected and the problem has not recurred. For an A6 C8 50TDI the TPI that’s required is 2053287/11 but more importantly, this is an Engine ECU update and not a gearbox update as such, the software update is 4K0907401K Interestingly, many correspondents on the thread said that their dealers were saying there was no available update. However, there certainly is - and it works!
  15. Or temporary GPS Jamming. these are carried out from time to time and notified to flight crew by NOTAM.
  16. Mine has FBSW and does have the Tour Pack.
  17. Can’t remember the code but I had a failed NOx Sensor.
  18. Had a similar problem given DRIVE TRAIN FAULT or something like that. Turned out to be a faulty tensioner pulley that keeps the belt around the starter at or correctly tensioned.
  19. I het this too. Severity varies. When the car was under the manufacturer’s warranty, Audi did do a fix but the rattle eventually came back. Not too bad and probably temperature dependent.
  20. Had my ATF Fluid and filter/pan at a ZF Specialist at 80000miles. I know people say ‘sealed for life’, by the manufacturer ZF recommend every 8 years or 80000 to 100000 miles. decided to stay on top of this as I am retired, bought the car from new and want to keep it long term. They had to undo part of the sub-frame to access the gearbox oil pan.

  24. Will do, collecting it this Thursday.
  25. Hi guys, recently bought a a6 c8 with 84k on the clock. After a short drive today had an engine coolant low warning. Checked coolant level and it’s really low, noticed residue below the engine. Any ideas? Thank you
  26. Also have you done any diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up?
  27. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 sounds like a lovely car.
  28. Neither for mine in regards to red or yellow engine lights. Just the error in the scroll menu on the central part of the virtual display. The breaks on mine only started juddering on replacing with a new sensor. Tried to clear codes too with OBD reader but no effect. Likely will bring it into mechanic as definitely dont want to brick the ABS. May need cleared with a better OBD2 tool either. No fault codes either on OBD
