Sport differential system fault

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Here is my story.

I am the proud (not so much anymore) owner of a 2010 S5.

Recently I had a sport differential system fault and took it to the specialist (VWauditech) do diagnosed it as the quattro control unit failed.

This has been replaced (600GBP+) and the faul is still there, apparently there is wear on the clutches.

They told me they could copy the data from a control unit of a similar car but because this was an

expensive option back then it very unlikely to find a similar car.

A new diff will set me back a whopping 6600 GBP without VAT and the "only other way to clear it 100% is to find a second hand matching DIFF with ECU".

I have found plenty of diff's (they gave me the product code) with low milage (16K or less) but nothing matching.......

Is there any genius out here who can help me here, before I do something i will regret (sell the car as it is) ???

Thank you so much guys
