I have just bought a 2003 (52) 1.9 TDI Avant 130 SE among other issues I have found that sometimes when I put my foot down the car doesn't boost but if I let off then reapply the accelerator it will then boost, has anyone come across something like this before?

Hi Ben, 

It might be worth.yku getting a diagnostic check carried out. But I'd guess it could be the turbo or leaking pipe. Leaking pipes are easy to fix however if it's the turbo then it'll be expensive. 

My sister had a similar issue on her golf mk4 1.9tdi 115bhp and some of the blades within the turbo had broken. This was preventing her having the acceleration when she needed it. After the new turbo was fitted the car has been fine ever since.
