A3 Sportback 2015 EPB

Featured Replies

Hi there

im new to this so bear with me please As I’m a forum virgin.

im now after a long time wanting one a very proud owner of a A3 1.4 TFSI S LINE 2015.

i want to change the rear pads and discs. (Fronts I could do ok).

ive looked up how do to do this but get a bit confused ie connect a  battery charger and software required.

Can I just purchase a Electronic parking brake release gadget (seen them on eBay) or do I need the VDCS SOFTWARE?

Also do I need to calibrate ECU once replaced due to new pad thickness ?

your help would be greatly appreciated as no Haynes manual for these yet.

Hello Ian,

Sorry if this is going to seem unhelpfull, but please do not work on EPB if you are not exactly sure what you have to do, and are experienced in doing it. There is a potential of doing yourself some serious harm.

As an aside, what make discs and pads are you considering using on your car?

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Was thinking just Bosch coated discs. Must admit my local Audi has only quoted £288 to replace rear discs and pads which to tell the truth I think ain’t bad from main dealer.

Appreciate your response

kind regatds
