Hi 

Was hoping someone can help me please.

My friend owns a S5 Cab with an issue - yellow driver info display warning and dash chimes. Standard car, but bit too much stuff in the boot during a camping trip has put up an ongoing fault which comes back straight after clearing the fault codes.

Roof goes up and down ok but will not totally finish the 'roof up' cycle (wont roll windows up automatically) as I think it thinks the top compartment is not fully closed (which it looks like it is) hence the warnings on the DIS.

I fully expect this switch to be bent/broken etc, but cannot for the life of me find anywhere which pinpoints its physical location.

0019 - Switch for Convertible Top Compartment Lid Closure; Locked 
          B1186 29 [009] - Signal Implausible

 

I have trawled the net for a solution, but was hoping for some help here.

I fear this isn’t going to be of much help, but in the absence of any other replies, could it be a matter of recalibrating the roof rather than replacing any components?

Hi Gareth - thanks for the reply.    Could be a plan - but the next question would be is that a user (with VAGCOM) do-able thing?    Trying to avoid the dreaded trip to the dealers but am running out of options !
