Battery jacket and top cover

Featured Replies

Hi all

I’m new to the Audi world, I’ve driven Golf GTIs for over 20 years, but have become very disappointed with their customer service etc, so thought I’d make a change to Audi!

I’ve bought an Audi S3, which is brilliant. I’m definitely and Audi convert now! But anyway, I’ve a question regarding the battery cover.

The battery terminals are exposed and the insulating jacket doesn’t cover the top as I’d expect it too. As well as that, there’s no plastic covers on the terminal posts, so potentially they could be shorted out.

Am I correct in think the jacket should cover the battery completely?

Welcome to the forum Jason, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂

I believe VAG stopped doing full battery covers for Audi S3 and Golf R after 2017. Clearly some cheeky cost cutting. I'd like to think a pre 2017 one would fit though. Or speak to your local dealer to see if you can acquire one.

Cheers

Steve
