i was checking the oil level when I noticed the circled part in the attached imagine the clips appeared to have snapped and the plastic is hanging on does anyone know what its called? And whats the purpose of it?it looks like an air intake but not 100%

Apologies, but I’m not sure exactly what you are referring to within your circled area. Since whatever it is, sounds like it will be a VAG only fixing, may I suggest you take the car along to the Parts section of your local dealer for them to help you with the fixings you need.

that not the air intake  for turbo ??   

Thanks for the response your right it is the turbo intake i will order a new cover
