Drivers door Lock Issues

Featured Replies

Hi, I am new to this forum.

I have issues with my drivers door not opening from the outside. The inside works fine. So i have taken the lock out and greased all the moving parts up. The small link cable is all free moving as well. When i shut the door the (without locking the car) the door will open fine again and again. As soon as i lock the car the the door will not open from the outside. So further investigation in to this problem is i have found that where the cable from the handle connected to the locking mechanism this part is not shoting back up. When i manually move it back up it will all work again fine until i lock the car again.

Can you guys help me with this please? Thanks

Hi - Sounds like I have exactly the same issue with my 2012 A6 - also started yesterday!!!! Where did you find the cable? Is it at the handle or at the locking mech? Did you have to take the door card off to find it?

Just found a similar problem fixed by a new door actuator. See YouTube link.

Hi Rich well done for posting the cure for this problem, many thanks.
