A/C pressure switch

Featured Replies

I bought my Audi recently and it didn’t have functioning ac despite assurances the ac being recently in normal working order. The fan works fine, and I thought I could tell the compressor was turning on

According to the previous owner, the ac pressure switch had been replaced 3 times recently with it working briefly before failing each time. On each occasion the system was checked and seemed well pressurised with no evident leak, and was blowing ice cold air for a while. They advised me to replace the pressure switch again with a genuine Audi part, which I did (it was from a 2012 car though the part number was the same)

I replaced it easily after removing the headlight. However the ac still didn’t work, and what’s more it is stuck on Econ mode now. I restored the previous aftermarket pressure switch and it’s still stuck on econ mode.

im a bit flummoxed but I feel like asking an air con specialist to have a look will cost a lot of time and money without guarantees they will know the cause

Any ideas what might have happened? I’m getting the pressure checked tomorrow but I’m skeptical that was the issue
