A1 1.6 tdi issues

Hi I have been having issues with my wife's audi a1 1.6tdi started with flashing glow plug light along with Loss of power,read error codes p2279,taken it to local garage and was told turbo and valve witch I orderd taken car back to have fitted and now saying need dpf with I am sceptical off as not had and warnings and issues that would indicate that any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The code you have is for an air intake leak behind the MAF sensor so the the engine is getting unmeasured air into it, this would cause the DPF to start blocking as the ECU will start an overfueling strategy to cope with the extra air but once the leak is cured a good forced regeneration should sort that out.
