Front end knocks/movement

Featured Replies

I had all my links changed on both sides earlier in the year but still get knocking and movement over rough roads or speed bumps, any suggestions as to the cause of this ..??

I was told it may be the spring mounts...   !

Hi, could well be strut top mounts on the front  the rubber goes hard and shrinks the knocking is normally a sign that the damper units have had their day and are not slowing the spring  compression which makes the mount move up and down.

Hello Ray,

Suspension issues can be assessed on the ‘shaker’ set up on MOT ramps. This facility ‘shoots’ the car side to side, and is intended to indentify any wear or undue movement.
Kind regards,

Gareth.
