hi

I have a 2010 A3 1.4 tfsi sportback, manual petrol 39000 miles

when i am accerarating around 55/65 mph i have a strange noise like driving over small cats eyes, stop accelarating and its gone.

ive sat with car in neutral on drive and revved up to 3000revs and nothing even when put in gear with foot on clutch.

not blips in power and pulls fine.

worried its something major

please, please, please help..........

Likely faults are a damaged tyre or worn joints in the transmission.

As Cliff suggests - particularly in respect of tyres. My first, and urgent action would be to take the car to a trusted local tyre retailer and ask them to thoroughly inspect all tyres - ideally with wheels removed.

just had new front tryes fitted and balanced and rear balanced as virtually new.

its getting really annoying now....
