Hi - newbie so apologies if I get something wrong here. I'm looking to purchase a used A4 Avant 16 plate. It is listed as having Car Play but looking at the pictures I don't see a USB port anywhere.

I've googled retrofitting carplay and lots of videos come up, and they all seem to require installing an extra box inline with the existing head unit and hiding it above the glove box. My guess is this isn't the official way.

So my question is - can car play be retrofitted as if it was factory fitted by Audi? Or is this (what looks like a hack) the only way to do it? Has anyone done it?

You could get it retro fitted but it won't be cheap. Here's a link for an example:
