HVAC Blower Motor Control Unit/Resistor - 2012 A4 S-Line Avant (B8)

Featured Replies

Hi all, apologies if this has already been covered in another thread, but i look back to the start of 2021 and could not find a suitable thread.

Anyway, the fan in my A4 avant stopped working, the controls still turn on, light up and allow you to select temperature, settings, fan speeds etc. but there is no fan. I took to my local independant and he diagnosed the part as being the faulty component, and Audi are quoting £336.29 for the part!

Through a bit of online searching i found the part number 8K0820521B and these range from about £50 for a used version of ebay upto about £100 for a new pattern part from a car part company operating in germany. Audi will not confirm or quote part numbers over the phone and the parts rep i spoke too said that this is not the part number he has on the system for my car, infuriating.

Question is, has anyone had a similar issue with their car and how do you resolve it without paying such a ridiculous cost to Audi for the part?
