i have a 2012 A3 2.0 tdi sline black edition 

I would like to fit cruise control is this something that only a Audi dealership can do or can anyone recommend someone in Central Scotland

Have a look for local retrofitters. I believe you'll need the new stalk and it'll need to be coded to the car. It's not a hard job to do apparently so retrofitters or even an auto electrican could not it.
