Rear suspension bushes

Featured Replies

Hi

I've an 2016 A4 b9 Avant which I've just purchased

Rear bushes look perished..images attached for comments.

Has anyone else come across this issue?

Is it expensive to fix?

How thick should the bushes be?

Cheers

One on mine looks like that. It was mentioned on MOT last year (before o bought it). Wasn't mentioned this year.

I have to say, the other side does look significantly more robust. Garage said it's ok. Just for context; I've been going there for years and trust their judgement.

I'll take some photos and post for reference.

You can 😉

I think the MOT referred to it as a rear coil spring rubber mount.

Forgot about this. The MOT flagged offside. It's not as bad as I thought. Nearside added for reference.

@Steve Q nothing to repair for me on this occasion 😀

I added photos for @RichPow to compare with his.

I think they are spring mounts/pads too. Audi sent me a similar image when I last serviced my B9 and the suggested the cost around £750 for both... I haven't done anything with them yet, and I it was a year ago. MOT haven't mentioned anything about them.

I had the same problem at my last mot, o/s/r was

breaking up. I had it replaced by an independent

audi garage for £176.

in my opinion, audi dealer prices have now become

extortionate.

it would appear that it's not all doom & gloom at audi, my brother has a

a4 allroad b9 2017, a broken n/s/r spring was found when in for service last week,

audi are going to replace it under warranty.  he is covered by (audi all in)

cost £600. good news indeed.

audi quoted him £600. initially, and said it may be

covered by the warranty, which it was, so a vast

saving.   (one happy brother)

kind regards

Brian.
