New to TT's - racing one this year - anything I should know!

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'm new to TT's having never owned one before.  I am racing one this year in the BRSCC's brand new race series 'TTCR'.

All the cars are virtually identical 2.0 TFSI 8J cars.  There is the option of either DSG or Manual, I've gone for Manual.

Is there any advice TT owners on this forum would give, with regards to running and racing one of these cars reliably?

The cars come with a mandatory build kit, including a pre-mapped ECU, BC Racing coilovers, and a few basic performance upgrades such as a Direnza induction kit and full exhaust system with sports cat.  But other than that the modifications are relatively limited. Oh they also have some aero, front and rear.

I'd be really interested to hear any TT owners suggestions on how to keep the car reliable all season; any tips on weak-points when they are pushed hard on track, and any advice on driving style to get the best out of these cars.

All ideas suggestions and opinions welcome.
