Audi door sound insulation advice

Hi, i had to do some aluminum work and needed to remove the sound insulation (some kind of foam)  that is behind door panel on my Audi A6 2010 (C6). Now i dont know what to use to glue it back. Has anyone done this before to point me at what glue to use?

a good quality two sided tape [gorilla]would do the trick id say

is it possible for water to enter if the tape is not holding it? Right now it was some king of silicone or similar glue behind and it was not easy to remove it. I dont want to put something that want hold it.
