Hi folks I’m looking for some advice, I have a 2007 2.0tdi sline bre engine, engine now removed as it had a lot of problems I figured it would be easier to just replace it. I’m just looking for some advice/tips to putting a new engine in I’ve never done it before. 
 

is it best to put another bre in it or replace it with a different engine code.

I'm in a similar boat with my A6 c5. In my case the fuel pump is coded to the imobiliser and instrument cluster and ECU. Plus there are different fuel.pump types depending on bhp of the engine. I suspect yours might be similar. As such I'd recommend you sourcing a bre engine or get yours rebuilt. 

Not going to lie, I'm struggling to find someone to rebuild mine.
