Hi All,

I am currently having some air conditioning issues with my Audi A3 and was wondering if anyone would know what it could potentially be!

The problem seems to happened after the battery died and it was jump started (at least i think this is when it happened) 

Initially when i pressed the aircon button it would turn straight of, i ran a code checker on it and i got a readback of low pressure (B10ABF0). as i had the car re-gassed the year before i read online its common for the pressure sensors to go bad so i replaced it and still had the same issue, i then brought the the AC pro regas from Halford and the pressure reader thinking this would also seal any potential leaks.

on starting the car and reading the pressure i noticed it was in the middle of the Green (just the right amount) i Still then topped it up to the max green. the air-conditioning light then stayed on, i thought result! however there was still no cold air 😞.

i also checked the compressor and it seems to be spinning ok, so i thought to take it out for a drive to see if maybe driving it would help..... it didn't 

After getting home i noticed the radiator fan was not on even after a hard drive which it normally does, it also wasn't coming on when i put the air conditioning on. i tested the voltage to fan plug and there was current going to it.so my initial thought was a faulty fan i took the fan out of the car and plugged it into a friends a3 and it came on.

i then tested the voltage to the compressor plug and there is voltage going there - so iam thinking the compressor is bad i don't want to replace if its not faulty as it can be expensive.

Does anyone know what it could be?

P.S there are no codes coming up and i have also checked the fuses and they seem all ok. i tried to find the fan relay as well but can - (its not under the support arms).

Was the battery changed after it died? 

As a failing battery can cause various electrical issues

I haven't I was actually changing the rear pads and left the car on ignition 1 and the computer plugged ( to wind the ebreak back) so think that might have caused battery to die. I Then jump started it from another car. (It's been running ok for last few weeks)

Although I just tried to disconnect the terminals and leave for 5 mins to reset ECU and now have the stop start failed and hill assist fail. So I have taken the battery off and put it on charge overnight will see if that helps.

Battery showed chargerd went green plugged it back in car ... And now I still have the hill assist stop/start and esc malfunction... Problems Seem to be getting progressively worse

How old is the battery? 

I'd definitely look ok at getting this changed if it's more than 5-7 years old. 

I'd also recommend speaking to an auto electrican 

Update took it for a drive all the ESC /hill start/SS issues went away. Nevertheless I have ordered a new battery. I was speaking to a friend who says that stop start is normally  the first thing to go when a battery is failing. And I don't believe its been working

Your friend is correct. Start stop is quite intelligent, if the system thinks there a chance the car won't turn back on if it were to stop due to battery strength then it won't run the risk of turning off.
