Help please, what is this residue on the engine?

Featured Replies

I am about to purchase a Audi A4 Automatic 2015 plate. I'm happy with what I have seen so far but I took the hood off the engine and would like some advice as to what the yellow marking could be, looks like something has been leaking? Is it nothing to worry about considering the car is 8 years old?

Much appreciated!!

Hi if its not wet or slimy don't worry its just moisture driven corrosion, brush it off with a brass brush and see if it reappears.

Steve.
