Audi A3 8v 2013 1.6 TDI- Steering Defective do not drive

Featured Replies

So this car has been serviced regularly since 2013 you’d expect reliability from Audi….. no no no absolute horror. The car is too smart for its own good.
I’ve had an intermittent problem that is shown in the video. ( after leaving my car to rage, 30 minutes later and loads of starts it works fine)

1. Do Not Drive!!! Steering Defective

2. Start stop function goes off but who cares

3. Stabilisation fault, traction control goes off

4. Hill hold assist unavailable

5. Sometimes parking brake won’t release

It’s been diagnosed by the garage and the only fault code that comes up is for the steering angle sensor. I had a replacement and no dramas for 2 months but now it’s happening again and the only fault code coming up is for the steering angle sensor.

Other Electrical Problems that are also intermittent

1. Parking brake defective, flashes red

2. Drivers side window doesn’t automatically wind down

3. Left Sidelight not working

I’m not sure if something could be throwing off all these problems but I need to find the part that’s giving me an absolute headache. OTHERWISE IM GOING TO BUY A HONDA

if anyone has seen this before and could offer some advice please let me know.

How old is the battery?

If it's on the original battery then this could be failing and ultimately be the culprit. We've seen time and time again where failing batteries throw up all sorts of electrical gremlins including multiple ones.

I have never changed the battery so I’ll get it checked over. Thanks 😊

I’ve been to Halfords to get a battery check he said it’s fine but the guy had no idea what I was talking about so I’m taking it to a proper garage on Sunday, I’ll let you know the outcome
