Hi all ive recently bought an audi 80 from 1991. I just wanted to know if anyone knew where to get the paint code or name. Its this silver in th picture

Hello Malachy,

I think it might be either Crystal Silver or Aluminium Silver, and the codes could be LYT or LYM. 
Well worth scouring the car for evidence of these letters - or similar.

Ah okay thank you. Ill have a look. Im new to audis, this is my first one so ive got a lot to learn 😂

There should be a label in the boot possibly on under the carpet or in the spare wheel well. It should also be inside the front cover of its service book. hope this helps.

Not sure about VAG  printing them on labels 26 years ago. I’m more inclined to think they would have stamped the detail on aluminium plates as most other manufacturers did then - but I could be wrong.
