Limp mode

Hello everyone I’m new to the forum I own a 2014 Q7. So back in May the wife was driving and car went into limp mode so it went to first garage and had a new egr valve fitted car still in limp mode so went to another garage they had it a good while they didn’t know what was up with it. So I phoned My local Audi they said because it’s been to another garage they were not keen on looking at it. Now it’s in an Audi specialist’s been in there 5 weeks and all I have been told it’s a real head scratcher problem and can’t put his finger on it. Has anyone had a similar problem or heard of a problem like this thanks for looking. Pete

It looks to be pointing to something on the exhaust side. The torque intervention is usually caused by a restriction or pressure issue which I’ve seen when dpf’s are clogged but it’s just a safety thing to stop the turbo getting damaged and if it was a dpf problem there would be other fault codes. The first place I would be looking is the turbo actuator then checking the dpf and sensor even if somebody has already changed that at another garage it’s worth checking over to see what they did.

Did the car seem down on power or smoke in the days before it went wrong

I popped round the garage today they were looking at the actuator. Before car went wrong it ran great with no smoke at all. The wife drove over a speed bump and it just went straight into limp.

I’m thinking of just going to get the car back as the garage really don’t seem interested in it. Maybe sending the ecu to get checked out then can have a look at some things when it’s back.

Just a update it’s finally running like a dream again ended up being the ecu not sure why garage’s can’t fix problems these days but if your car has this problem before spending thousands replacing all the parts get the ecu checked out.
