Engine fan keeps coming on

My 2013 a3 tfsi fan has got worse keeps coming on quite loud even if I just open the door it comes on

temperature is normal should I be worried.

Yes you should, though it is not clear to me if you refer to the engine fan or the cabin fan. The fan will knock it self out by continually running at high speed, and will increase fuel consumption a little.

Hi its either the temperature sensor that controls the fan or most likely the fan control unit mounted on the fan assembly in front of the radiator.

I will probably have to have code check done to see what faults it brings up I think

That's about £100 or is there an easier way?.

Hi yes spend your money on an OBD Eleven reader then you can look at what you want whenever you want on your phone and not become a victim of overcharging garages, you will be able to tell them what the problem is.
