Hello all, I have a 2013 A1 dsg sline 185hp, last week the key got stuck in the barrel and i couldn’t turn the ignition off. It took over an hour before finally the key turned off. I have been told this could be the ignition switch at other end of barrel. I am replacing this switch tomorrow but any advise if this isn’t the fault? Thank you.

I think it definitely could be that switch. How did you get on changing it? 

Changed the switch but unfortunately same problem. I’m told it’s the steering lock has broken causing the barrel to jam. Need a complete new barrel fitted costing over £450 but get two new keys and all coded.

Sorry the switch didn't resolve it. Glad you've got to the bottom of it though
