Considering A5

Featured Replies

Hi All,

New here so apologies if this has been asked before.

I am considering buying an A5 I’ve been eyeing up for a few weeks now. It’s a Sport back 2020 automatic diesel with around 37,000 miles on the clock.
A few people I’ve told about the car have said they’ve had friends who have had several issues with the A5 automatic gearbox. I’m not sure if they’re the older models as I can only find posts about 2016-2017 models having gearbox issues.

Can any of you shed any light at all please?

Thank you in advance!

Victoria.

I can't answer your question directly, but I would ignore secondhand opinions of friends of friends. They invariably become distorted in the retelling. Look for published reviews that give firm details of the model involved.

If got a 2015 sportback and the  only thing I've had issues with was the Ad blue lovely car to have

i also have a 2014 a5,no problem except i had to replace the egr cooler, cost 450 euro inc labour,a great car to drive.Greg
