Hello all

I have just got my 21 Q5 Edition one petrol and overall am delighted. I have moved from a Disco and the performance is off the scale.

One hiccup is the stop start has stopped working and wonder if there is a simple fix.

Thanks very much....Topforbo

Hi Mate, I’m picking up my new Q5 sport back TDI on Friday.

most common for start stop not working is low battery charge. The car will stop it working.

Agreed. Get the battery professionally tested for an indication of its health. A simple multi meter voltage test under little load will not reveal internal faults.

Thanks guys, I will get a check done and come back to you.

Thanks Richard,

Sorry for the questions, but was the s/s actually working when you picked it up, but has stopped working now?
That would be unusual. Far more common for it not to be working when bought, due to the vehicle sitting around on forecourts with the battery running down.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

p.s. Worth getting the alternator output checked at the same time.

Thanks for that

Could it be that the battery was given a charge prior to collection and it has since depleted. I think it only worked for a day.

Richard
