Hi All, just looking out for recommendations for brake pads and discs...

any particular brands I should get or avoid...

I drive on the motorway frequently. I would say border line impatient sometimes when stuck in traffic. I've not had a set of brakes for around 3 years, if that helps.

Motorway miles will be easy on brake pad wear, and unless you are ‘last seconds on the brakes’ then standard pads should do you fine. In case it helps, I’ve been using Brembo of late on family cars to good effect. Same with discs if needed. I buy mine via. EBay at competitive prices from reputable suppliers. You could try Parts in Motion for example. 
If you want something a bit more ‘performancy’ then you could choose from the EBC product range.

Ok i will check them out, I am last seconds on the brakes a lot specially when traffic builds up on the motorway journey in peak traffic. I'll check those brakes out.

Any progress Rit? 

No progress magnet except from I got my tyres changed, and got a second opinion on my brakes... added photos of my front and back.

I was told back brakes need doing... but what's the community opinion on both front and back disc and pads?

 

I still need to find a few brands that i should use...

Your photos reveal nothing worthwhile. If you really want a second opinion you need to take some measurements of pad thickness and disc thickness.

Anything I write or do gets critisized. I'm a regular car owner, what's the big deal i posted some photos of my brakes, asked a question about them, you've turned the experience into something else. No doing right by you.

Welcome to the real world Rit. If you want opinions from people here you need to supply useful information on which to base those opinions, not useless photos.

I’m really sorry to hear you are dissatisfied with the assistance you have been given on the forum. 
I don’t want to ‘take sides’, but I do want to be progressive, and I think Cliff has a good point - information is king. Very often, we have little to go with when opinion is sought - a bit like taking the dog to the vet, and vet trying to diagnose, when obviously the dog cannot tell him! We have to try to diagnose/ form opinion without access to the vehicle. Still…..

Re your car and how I ( in bold) see it:- 

The discs appear to have a significant lip on the circumference, indicating wear. The disc thickness must be measured and its current thickness judged against the acceptable minimum, and equally important, that their thickness will remain within tolerance throughout the life of another set of pads. Of course, you don’t want to renew the discs without renewing the pads. 
I really don’t want this to offend, but since you have gone to the trouble of removing the wheels, it’s sort of automatic that you would measure disc and pad thicknesses since you were enquiring about which pads to use. 
Let’s hope all of this explains the situation, and is progressive, and please don’t be a stranger to the forum - we attempt to do our best with what we’ve got.
