Buying Advice Please

Hi, I am looking at an A1 TFSI C o D S Line 1.4 auto petrol for my daughter. It has done 72,000 on a 66 plate with a full service history & 1 owner. I am factoring in a cam belt change in the negotiation with the dealer as there is no evidence of it being done etc. I have been reading conflicting advice re servicing the gear box, Audi say there is no service interval as it is 'sealed for life', also an Audi independent said the same, however, I believe that it should have an oil & filter change. Any advice would be appreciated & an idea of cost would be great. Cheers

Hi how many more times are they going to spout such garbage, when the box goes bang [much more money for them] they will tell you that they never said it was sealed for life, just filled for life, they must be serviceable otherwise why does anyone bother buying the filter kits and oil, dont know where you are in Essex but there are a couple of garages in Rayleigh that specialise in gearbox services on German models, the gearbox should be serviced every 30k/3 years.

Thanks for your replies. I spoke to a gearbox specialist and they confirmed that servicing is required, been quoted about £200 which will be money well spent. I will be getting the cam belt changed too. Many thanks.
